Yeah the Canon gives me a colour cast compared to the Sony for sure.
On the Sony I did not need to do colour correction, just enhancement.
On the Canon, I have to do correction first then enhancement and it sometimes just pisses me off!

And moving onto lenses...
Nikon is "Hey, we got you covered for DX and FX. But updates to our non-supertelephoto primes... ehh... we'll get around to it."
Canon is "We got all the niches covered. Oh, you want a L EF-S lens... one word, 'no'."
Sony's hope for gaining more market is "We got AF Zeiss lenses!!!"
Pentax obviously is "What you want without breaking the bank."
I'm talking about the complete package. Image quality, speed, features, accessories, ergonomics and handling, build quality and just the overall thought of the design of the whole system. You can't see any of that by looking at pictures online (except for ISO superiority).
I'm not dissing Sony. I'm just saying they are not a major competitor to CaNikon at this point - but they are striving to get there.

If you mean those nice metal lens for Canon/Nikon/Pentax.. then no, only via M42 (whichs like 3 models and not those good). Thats really shame, cause Zeiss 50mm F2 macro is great.. same as 100mm macro.. Main fault of Sony is that all their AF lens are a lot of plastic and not exactly great construction cause even that great Zeiss zoom has quite high fault rate.. :(
All the Sony AF lenses built in the 80s were metal. And from 90s onwards only the G's were metal.
The newer high end lenses are poly carbonate.

Yesterday picture.. bit noise cause its cuted from bigger pic (and its PnS camera:D). Still ok I think..
Wonder how colors look on normal monitor. :D (if it reminds Fuji Velvia, then I made something wrong.. :D ).
Nice pic Mescalamba, looks cool.
Here's one I took a few days ago with my new d40x, using kit lens.
Model: NIKON D40X
Shutter Speed: 1/160 second
Aperture: F/6.3
Focal Length: 34 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Hmm, lets see if I can attach it properly haha

Edit:
Are there any websites I can upload the full sized picture to, and then make a smaller hotlink pic for on here (so when you click the picture it'll load the page with the full version)?
Here's a link to where I uploaded it on deviantart, but you have to click 'download' to get the fullsize (it looks like poo when its smaller because of all the detail)

Lol ofc I have.. its just cropped picture and I have compact camera (Point and Sh*t). :D Its noisy as hell and it artefacts (cause its JPEG only and JPEGs allways artifacts, unless you have Olympus dSLR).
Tough, still it beats most point and shoots by looong distance (never saw point and shoot camera that can produce watchable ISO 400.. this one can, but it is noisy still, its small sensor anyway).
Not sure if you shot that pic in RAW, if you didnt, you should.. If you did, well.. its cause SNR (signal-to-noise ratio of 450D isnt exactly best.. pretty much as my old Panasonic G1, which means bit noisy even at base ISO). It can be "cured" a bit by post-processing image.
And thanks for comment. :)
Thanks, I've only put a few hundred clicks on the sucker since I got it a few weeks ago, still need to get a decent white booth (or w/e they call 'em to take pics of pc parts) together.
I loved the way that pic came out though, straight off the sensor too (other than converting to jpeg for web)
And I wanted a d40, didn't see a need for the d40x, but I got it for the same price as I saw the d40's goin for at FM so I grabbed it. Got it with kit lens, a bunch of cards and accesories for $320, bought it within ten minutes of the guy posting it haha.
I love it though, although biased towards nikon, read some of ken rockwells thoughts on the d40/x body, he loves it
