nice pot DoObs !
you tape a plastic bottle on that sink or just foam ?
Thanks Chopper
I have this foam so just wrapped it around the Cooler . with ducktape aswell underneath, press stick where the mounting bracket goes to the core stop any condensation come from under the bracket.
Then alot of insulation tape.
But dam luckily i bought Alcohol otherwise i dont think i would have seen great results like i have.
My Cpu is Wicked 600FSB on it, pretty stoked.
More to come though, anyone want to Send me a nice pot for me CPU
hi overclockers :)
on friday morning i got new E8400 batch Q807A552.but after installing
in p5k dlx wi/fi which gave 550FSB with E6850 it disappointed me.this
batch couldnot go over 500FSB.i tried all settings but no luck.with
this MB E8650 could not reach 4GHZ but 550FSB surprised.e8400 can
go 4GHZ 9*445 stayable and 500*8 unstayable.all setting are on auto except
mem volts. any body with MB and this batch any got any luck.
core temp 0.99.1 showing VID=1.2250v i think this is bad :(
Leeghoofd what you think about this batch why not giving 550FSB.
is this cpu is a problem with FSB on this p5k dlx MB.WTF
You got mail Xpower, let me know what gives... which vcore do you need for 4ghz stable operation ? if it's eg 1.35 then you might need 1.36 or higher for 500FSB operation...
ok i will try that but how is this batch with VID 1.2550v
Q807A552 what is max FSB of this batch.especially with p5k dls
I'm with the same MB and E8500 Q807A253 cooling by SS. CPU has very strange behaviour on my system. I can run Prime for 2-3 hours at 9.5*500 @1.55v, 3D Mark Vantage allso, but when I start some game then - blue screen:( I also tried all settings including RAM timings and voltages but no luck.
This is my BIOS 0812 settings , if there is something wrong please tell me:

So after few days of attempts and irritation I've left the CPU on 9.5*475 @1.37v. Now is stable in games, but it's a shame with subzero cooling to get numbers like this:shakes:
Fpo#: Q813a190
Vid: 1.1750
my q813a does 4.2ghz @ 1.37v. Give it a try ;)
Okay. I'm having a bit of trouble overclocking my E8400 above 3600 Mhz. At 3600 it seems stable on 1.23 Vcore. But when I try to go above 3600 it won't pass a 1 hour OCCT - always crashes with a code 1 error. I have tried adjusting every setting I can think of. Because its a calculation error I can assume that the problem is with the processor. I have tried upping the voltage and adjusting the VTT both up and down with no success. For some reason though, whenever I take the Vcore above 2.8 it won't even post. The only thing I can think of is that my memory (DDR2 800) is somehow holding me back. Any suggestions would be super helpful.
Vcore 1.23
Ram timings - 4-4-4-12 (Also tried 5-5-5-15 AND 5-5-5-18)
NB Voltage 1.405
SB Voltage 1.6
VTT 1.1
Multiplier 8.5
FSB 430
PCIE Clock 105
Running ram on the 400/800 strap (Gives me a 900 Mhz clock on the ram when I try to go to 2800 Mhz)
everything else set to auto
Thanks!
Please tell me that was a typo. If not, you have definitely earned the name "kingoftoasty".Quote:

ah, lol yes indeed that was a typo. I meant to say it wont post whenever I go above 1.28 vcore.
I never had a DFI Toasty but for 450FSB ops I needed 1.5NB volts on the Maximus boards.. also your CPU VTT is way low.. try 1.2
Question for the Vcore : with the working settings eg 400FSB and you put in 1.28Vcore : it just won't post or doesn't it post with 1.28Vcore set and ya new settings ? if no post try 1.35 and work ya way down...
also why don't ya use the 9 multi and try 425FSB...
Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions. They seem so simple in retrospect, I don't know why I just didn't set the multiplier for 9 in the first place.
After a 32 million digit superpi, 1 hour on orthos I'm still stable. Running a 1 hour OCCT now. If it passes, I think I can call it good. Will post again after the Orthos testing. With any luck I can drop the VCore a bit and lower my temps too.

Oh, and when I set the VCore above 1.28 it powers on for less than a second and then shuts off. If I had to guess, I would say that its the thermal management shutting down the system because the temps are spiking. with my 4000 Mhz over clock, its hitting 68c. After I lap the CPU and heatsink I hope to get better thermal performance cause the temps are a bit scary as is.
nevermind
Ok. I think I finally got the OC I was looking for. 4000 MHz on 1.26 VCore. Stable on a 32M superpi, Orthos, and OCCT.

okay what the heck here.. my e8500 with the new 99.1 showed a vid of 1.15 3 days ago. i just opened it again today and now it says 1.09 with the same program??? what could have possibly changed or why would it show different now?? i do not have it oc'ed at the moment?? i do however have a stuck sensor on core 0...stuck at 34 and doesnt move
Nice! We have the same overclock to the volt. I'm running 4005MHZ at 1.26vcore (445 x 9) and I am running the ddr2 corsair at 890 as well.
Im still running the memory stock at 1.9v, 5 - 5 - 5 - 18. Are you running this too?
EDIT: BTW, I max out in the low 60c range, with 39c idle.
okay now im going nuts now it reads my vid as 1.225???????
also i am failing orthos almost instantly now?????
my vid on mine (from real temp) is 1.225 .... not sure if its the greatest ... but my comp locks up a lot :) ....but i am thinking it is the RAM and i ordered some new stuff and should be here tomorrow
