is Q750A071 a e8500 or a e8400 on dope? lol just wondering cause i was looking through the batch numbers and can only find Q750A batches for e8400....

My new Q816A passed OCCT 1hr cpu test at 4.2 (8.5x495) with 1.33v bios set on my maximus formula.

Prime95 small fft failed at this setting in 1hr 18 minutes.

Now test 4.2 with 1.35v bios set. I really wish I could find the vcore reading point for this board so I knew the exact voltage since this board droops.

so it looks like my e8500 805 batch according to the bios (i just set it up) says at stock speeds its 1.22v?? is that not high for stock settings??

Mine also has VID 1,225v and it is a bad OCer, need 1,38 to reach 3.8Ghz :(

I had my NB at 1.84v, pretty high i know but i wanted that 600FSB

My pc didnt work for a lil while. for some reason i can run my ram in Dual channel, what could be the problem....screwed up the NB a bit maybe...

i just got my Q813A E8500 from the egg. Priming large at 4275 (1900fsb) 475x9 now will post more when i drop voltages. My Q807 E8500 runs 24/7 at 4275 1.42v post degradation. I just dropped the new chip in and dropped vcore to 1.35. been priming 30mn. If this runs 45min i'll drop volts and raise FSB some. bbs

That box is being recycled someplace now. I didn't realize how good of a clocker I had, I'll be sure to note the batch when I get in there again.

well i got a crap chip i guess. my vid is 1.225 and ive reseated the heatsink 3 times now vertical and horizontal and my core 2 temps is nearly 5-6 deg higher than core 1 under any stress.. ive tried mx-2 and as5 also.. why cant i ever get a low vid chip.. arghh this sucks batch was Q805A500 and i just freaking got this one from newegg and everyone else is getting these nice 817's or 816's and why the heck i get this thing..stock voltage with cpuid is 1.235v already

i also think one on the temp sensors is getting stuck. core #0 seems to not move at all when i check the sensors with real temp where core#1 jumps up and i get about a 5-10 difference in the sensor test between cores???

Try the latest coretemp 0.99.1 for correct vidout read... think a lapping will help drop ya temps and Vcore requirements...

My P5Q dlx also sets 1.25 while my VID is 1.1875 and it does 4ghz at 1.21volts...

Im going to get a 8400, which week should I try to find?

Ill use with a p5k moded, how will it work?

with core temp 99.1 it says 1.15 for vid. temps are fine overall im idling at 33-34 but when i load it i see core 1 jump fast and it takes core 0 a while if sometimes at all for the temp to rise..even with core temp it appears core 0 just sits there temp wise until a large increase is needed but at idle it reports both cores within 1 deg of each other.. its just that core 1 will say jump to 48 where core 0 sits a idle temps then when core 1 hits just over 50 core 0 will finally jump up also???? and core 0 will never go below 34 deg ever.. where core 1 will drop to maybe 32-33 at idle.. it juts looks like core 0 is locked at 34 all the time till a large temp increase is shown. so do i guess i have a bad temp sensor huh??

so is 1.15 decent for the vid on these??

Swapped my Q6600 with my baby brother's E8500 on the offchance that it might be a good one...

Turns out it was a Q745A809 purchased back in February, I'd heard good things about the Q745A's but when I got it installed I found it had a pretty disappointing VID of 1.225 :shrug:

Anyway messed about with it a bit and got this:-

Ok. I think I finally got my overclock stable. As you can see from the pics, it passed a 5 hour small FFT test in Orthos and I just started a blend test to make sure that the ram is stable. If all goes well, I will try for a 4000 Mhz overclock later today.

What do yall think of the Vcore? It seems like this chip is a pretty good overclocker. Batch Q815A418
The temps are a bit high, but after I lap my heatsink and processor, those should go down.

I know that when you run Large FFTs, the 5 minutes are crucial for the ram ...if in this minutes you don't have any error, you have 99% stability on u're ram...that's right ? :D...anyway...

Core Temp show me 75 degres and Real Temp show me 65 degres...my cooling is ZALMAN 9700CNPS (high RPM for test), the case is Tagan A+ Twin Engine...what degres are right?
