You're supposed to spread the TIM on an open core, silly man. :p: You surely can't dot that little guy! :nono: Although, with ASC you can use a bead down the center which spreads.Quote:

For what it's worth, I decided to give auto voltage (1.35v) a shot again, and it seems to be doing very well. I'm testing 2.7GHz 1.35v right now, dual priming for about 20 minutes so far, loading @ 39C. :fact: Going to see how high stock vcore will take this thing, dual prime stable for at least 8 hours.

will post results in 2-3 days :D
A table with all the OC's seems really needed here.
I mean, sifting away the gold from the dross in 3500 posts is a hefty challenge.
(will get my 165 later this week and I'll show y'all how it's done :D)
Hey pcdoc1 sorry for long reply timeQuote:

The first one keeps amazing me more and more , it is DUAL PRIME STABLE 3.0GHz @ 1.50V on crapy water with > +53 C Loaded temps muahaha  :woot: :fact:

Still on the rise, dual priming @ 2765MHz. :D If this thing gets to 2.8GHz, it verifies that heat due to a :banana::banana::banana:ty IHS is the problem. Can I call it golden if I get 2.8GHz stock vcore IHS still intact with no lapping?
Ok , sorry guys made a typo yesterday it's not EPAW - it's realy FPAW :)
Opteron 170 CCB1E 0609FPAW , both of them .
First one , the one on the screenshot is the strongest it seems ... Second one that i bought today it's very good too , defenatly a +2.80-2.85GHz chip :)
The one on the left is the first one , and right one is the second :

I like 06 chips :p:
I would most definately say so :DQuote:

This stepping might just do it on 1volt or so.
I missed your previous post, but Holy PWMIC temps, batman! Get some cooling on there! You'll probably find higher stable clocks if you can get that PWMIC under control. ;) And prime died just short of 2.8GHz. :( Finding an 8-hour prime stable at least setting, testing 2765MHz atm.
I don't know what's wrong with my PWMIC temps :( , it gets that hot only if i use Vcore higher then 1.45V , i have a fan blowing on that area also  , my PSU OCZ PowerStream 600W gets hot too , may be it's too much load (2x7900GTX , Dual Core .... ) , will try on DFI Xpert and see if it's mobo related or noQuote:

Oh i see what you are saying , they may ship from another location if u order online , i don't know but thats possible ... It's difficult to tell what stepping it will be . Both of them Retail package . Second chip (#293) seems prime stable 2.8GHz @ 1.4V so far :)Quote:

I only started it up and fooled around. For kicks I set it straight to 3000 with 1.4v and it went to windows. Still haven't even tried for stabilty so who knows. Only screenshots I have is when I was trying to figure out how much lower the mem divider was going to hurt, so I have those screen shots so I didn't have to write down the numbers. Stabilty will most likely be lower then this, but on my last 165 I couldn't get 2900 to not instantly BSOD at any voltage, so this is definetly a nicer chip. When I get the max stable I'll post real numbers. I just thought I should post and say these are looking to be nice!

I noticed Core Center is still a piece of crap: "76 MHz x 39.0"
Is it just me or has every B1 chip you've seen been awesome
Sure is, but MSi stuff in general is blah. :p: This is x64, the x86 Core Center doesn't do it. Only app that I can reliably change mem voltage in windows. Also measures temps so I don't have to have speed fan open also. It's almost embarassing to have Core Center open in a screenshot. LOL.Quote:

AIC, you're switching from an Opteron 144 CABNE 0530 to an Opteron 165 0608 MPMW? Man, we're entirely too much alike. :) Your temps seem better than mine, but how did you get a 39x multiplier!?!?!?! ;)
tsuehpsyde, did you get your 165 from Monarch?
I'm looking to get a 170 from either Newegg or Monarch. Anyone have an estimate of the new steppings and which of the two companies I should purchase from? OEM or Retail? Thanks.
Looks like those two new CCB1E steppings came from monarch? Am I right?
If from Monarch, are they OEM or Retail?Quote:
