Notice where the most lightning is happening, and frame your shots accordingly, some lightnings might fall out of its "Default Area" (there is usually a place where most lightning is happening), dont get distracted by them and keep clicking at that default place, you will start getting decent shots, when clicking lightning, dont wear any metallic things, such as watches, etc, they are prone to lightning, and use a remote controller to trigger the camera and stand a bit away from it for safety, A great place is a small roof on you, or a huge tower around you will save you from lightning since it will attract the lightning towards it. always take a few plastic bags just in case rain starts to fall you can cover your stuff up easily.
