Hi does anyone know of a bios that supports Gulftown CPU's. I would like to test my gulfy on my RIIE.
Minimum version 1504, but the best will be 1704
Yes, gulftown support is BIOS 1639 onward.
they updated there site and the bios versions who support Gulftown

CMOS_CLR on the R2E is the jumper clrtc_sw, it's good?
thanks ;)
Hi Guys
I'm New R2E User :D
Ask 1 Question: Which BCLK Can Stable For Benching With This Mobo? I'm In Use Water Chiller 5 IDLE Temp :) Tanx
Hey Vivid, I can bench 218 - 220 so far, so can others, more than that I score lower and sometimes have boot issues. Depends on your board and CPU though, some do better than others. Others have done higher though, 230 - 240 IIRC.
Tistou77 - the clear cmos is button on the rear IO panel, the switch turns it on and off.
Playing around with some higher CPU speeds.

Looking good CryptiK ! I always loved those cards you have . I should be getting my second card in a week .
Thanks. You getting a second 5970? If so you're going to do some serious 3D damage with them for sure.
Yes CryptiK , looking forward to it . I just sold my AMD parts to pay for it and the water block . This being my first ever intel rig I have done a lot of testing the last week . I have found my best performance is with BCLK 220 x 20 Ratio with HT Enabled or Disabled & Turbo Enabled or Disabled . I can run stable at BLCK 221 x 20 but best performance is BCLK 220 x 20 . Here's a quick LinX run with HT Enabled ( 8 cores ) & Turbo Disabled . Liquid cooling is a must to run flat out 24/7 100% stable . http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r.../HTEnabled.jpghttp://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r...HTEnabled2.jpghttp://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r...HTEnabled3.jpg Have to to let you all know I love this new Intel platform ! Need an unlocked cpu ratio multi although !!!
Hello all. I currently have the 1704 BIOS installed on the i7-965. Is there some sort of online guide that can help with all of these settings? As of now i don't have my system overclock due to my heating problem that i will post in another section. I realize that this thread is very huge and continues to grow. Any help with the above would be appreciated. Thank you for your time on this matter.
Thanks for the reply back. I did take a look at your BIOS settings and PC pics, and i must say WOW! that's some sick stuff right there. As for me i am running on air and won't even think of applying those settings to mine, lol. I am just looking to go up in speed from stock of 3.2 to maybe 3.6 or 3.8 at most. But since i have overheating issues with this i am not sure that might happen. As far as my PC knowledge i would say its pretty decent. I work in the field as a Desktop Support Tech and built this rig myself. But i am not too familiar with overclocking software and or BIOS tweaking and so on.
Okay cool . I can help you do that . Could you run LinX for say like 10 times and take a pic on 9 with core temp in with the pic showing all four core temps . This will give me an idea of how safe you are now and will give me an idea where I can take your cpu frequency to . LinX you can down load a few page back here and Core Temp just google if you don't already have it . We must be careful if your having temp issues so lets see how it looks under full load at stock frequency first . Look at some of my LinX runs here and set your pic up like I did .
How are the chipset temps on this mobo? Does it usually require a fan to be added to the chipset cooler? Is the stock TIM any good?
My NB Temp Around 45~50 With 1.45Volt
I Use Fan Top Of The HeatSink ;) If Pot Silent Fan Better For NB :)
Your case cooling is going to play a big role for chipset cooling . I do not run any fans on my chipset and have no problems . According to Asus Probe II my NB is 38c , SB 34c at idle ( 1.475V NB ) . Probe II my guess is anywhere up to 10c idle to 20c load off on reading the temps correct . This should give you a good idea on how cool the R2E chipset is . ViViD temps are similar to mine .
I got my hands on one of these last night and I spent the afternoon installing it. I want to see how it performs compared to the evga x58 micro that I have. The settings are a little different I would like to know how these settings look. I am getting ready to start priming. Also is the IOH voltage the Northbridge voltage? I am running a Ci7 920 D0 with 3x2GB Corsair 1600MGz DDR RAM

This should explain your platform and settings ElAguila . Very good information for you and will answer most of your questions . Intel 17 920 & Rampage II Extreme settings information guide . There is also a laid out 3.6Ghz and 3.8Ghz core frequency settings guide you can fool with . I believe that is where you wanted to originally go to for core frequency .
Thanks for the link!
