Hello
I Can´t buy SMD´s in my country only electrolitic... I have some smd´s 1uf/63v of another one ct-479 but I ask myself if I can replace Black SMD 22uF/10v Tantalium by Electrolitic 22uF/16??
Salu2
EDIT: I obtained one SMD 22uF/16, it serves??
Just one question Hipro.. will soldering the resistor (3.3 or a variable on set to 3.3 ) do me any good without soldering on the various caps.. My local Elfa store is sold out of everyone of the caps except the 22uF/10V smd ceramic one... need to break 50 K on my new 780.... and do have a couple of 3,3 volt resistors lying around..
Would appreciate your reply..even though I can imagine this thread taking a lot of your time..:)
Hipro5, where are you?
Salu2
Electrolytic capacitor is not that "strong" in filtering as the tantalum.....Also to 22uf electrolytic will be tall....Quote:

Hello
Ok, electrolitic no, but regular SMD 22uF/16v, it serves??
Thanks for your answer.
Salu2
Yes 22uF SMD will do the job.....;)Quote:

so i soldered only the 100uf 16v cap by the power plug, the 3.3kO resistor and the 47uf 16v tantalum and my overclock dropped siginificantly. i'm going to try with the 400fsb jumper settings and maybe add the vcore filtering caps in a few days. but from 225 max post i went down to 218, which was my 24/7 speed, and it's not stable at that now.
UPDATE: the 47uf tantalum was causing problems. i removed it, but i'm back to where i was before the mods, any ideas?
hipro
plz post ALL the mods please )
i cant wait )
I'll do it next Monday....We have to bench with LN2 first.....;)
That will be a great day then. Good luck with the ln2 benching.
hipro5
i know you did a lot of mods for p4c800 and p4gd1 ) abit ic7 style )
post them 2 plz )
hi !! i have some litle problems to find the right Electrolitic capacitor´s 100uF/16V is the same ?
http://www1.conrad.de/conrad/layout2...refview=search
ore i think this one is not so high but i dont know if this one works also !
http://www1.conrad.de/conrad/layout2...refview=search

For the P4GD1 Idid Vchip(wich accualy is the VAGP like the P4C800) and a LOT of capacitos (ceramics and electrolytics) plus heatsinks....I'll find some time and take some photos to upload.....

Hipro5 and everyone, which of these mods fixes the pesky 1 more fsb+ no boot with the Dothan:D I've been priming my 750 for the past few days now and finally made it to 2.6Ghz 1.41V:banana: . I have the jumper set default which I think is 400 and using bios beta 1023. Can someone explain to me please what the vcca mod do? I'm limited atm with ceramic capacitors. So someone shed me some light please.....thx:toast:
Make the VCCA mod and put the jumpers @ 133MHz..........Quote:

I have a few ceramic capacitors here I could use but i have no idea what their values are. I could probably scrape some from a dead mb. I will let it burn in for awhile since i finally made a better contact with my Hyper6:banana: 33C-35C idle and 46C max load. Btw hipro5, which is at fault here when its stable at a certain fsb and then 1 more fsb just doesn't post at all. Is it the cpu or the adapter? :toast:Quote:

Hipro5, I just want to say thanks for your suggestion of 533/Vcc mod:toast: I can honestly say it works with my crappy 750:D Before the mod I can't do 227 on any multi's especially 9/10/11 etc. But now it boots at 231 fsb coming from a no post. It didnt post at exactly 1.80Vcca/ and then I adjusted it to 1.89Vcca since i soldered a trimmer instead for more and what do ya know damn straight it posted:D I will try 1.95Vcca later on when I encounter the next big black screen:D Btw, whats the max safe for vcca mod?
:toast:Akura:toast:
i'm in the same boat, 225 is stable, 226 isnt, couple more and it won't post. i'm completely stuck, at 231fsb, i get a hard crash by adjusting clocgen that high.Quote:

hippro5, any ideas? my adapter is modded, by the way. it's also a new adapter so it isnt missing a pin like my last one.
So here's what I got so far from vcca mod. At 1.80Vcca max I can boot with 10x multi is 227fsb. 1.90Vcca it maxes at 231fsb.
So here's the deal I upped the damn mod once more and this time at 1.98Vcca:D :D :D

I'd like to know where should I stop increasing the trimmer.:D It's on fire:toast:
Edit: Tweak it some more around 2.0+Vcca......
