Nope--exactly what I've been looking for, though.

I have another observation I'd like to point out--all three X1x00 cards do unusually well in 3D05, due to the excessive (IMO) number of vertex shaders paired with high clock speeds. Anybody else notice the X1800XT getting its ass handed to it in the 05 (and 03, IIRC) pixel shader benchmark? ATi's getting its performance from weird places it seems (vertex and memory performance over pixel shading performance just seems WEIRD) that won't leave it in parity with the 7800GTX with later games--it'll either win big or lose big it seems.

Good find! Too bad it's not at the res we care about....but it still shows that we most likely have the new 01 king on our hands!

I'm happy I bought ATYT (Ati Tech) at $11.75 a month and a half ago... maybe I'll sell a hundred shares at Christmas and buy a couple X1800....

You doubted it would be? ATI has been the 01 king since the 9700 and Nvidia cards pretty much suck at it. But what good is it if it sucks at 03/05 and you can play games better on a 7800gtx for cheaper AND have the card right now. I've had ~600 dollars waiting for these and all I have to say is I'm deffinatly saving my money :(

am i the only who thinks HardOCP's review is a little lame? They cite such reasons for not review the X1800XT like

they also cite how the x800XT PE was hard to find. Interesting how he fails to mention the 6800Ultra EXTREME and the 5800 Ultra.

thoose weren't paper launches at all :rolleyes:

hardocp sucks and is using their review to get back at ati.

Ok, so ragging on ATI for not having thier X1800XT's out yet is a legitimate claim :slapass: , ragging on them for not having the X1600XT's out yet is not, because nVidia has't even announced thier midrange 7 series card, or thier low end 7 series card. which is pretty bad considering that the 7800's have been out for months.

Stuperman, I was under the impression that the 7800 series was nVidia's high end, the 6800 GT the midrange and the 6600 and 6200 the lowend [as prices gradually drop]. When has nVidia ever mentioned a 7600 or a 7200?

There's an opinion that nvidia will put the low mid range on 90nm so that is how 7200/7600 would come about. That assumes that the TSMC process at 90nm is cheaper per gpu than the 110nm process is. Presumably they would clock higher as well.

For the high end nvidia could stick with their current design and simply go 90nm and crank it up to 600+, however rumours of r580 being close to production and having 3 x the shading performance of the r520 are also being said.

Who knows ! :D Sounds like fun ahead though.

Thanks for the 2001 scores guys, looks like 50k will go down soon.

Nick from Futuremakr has been dropping hints about 06 recently, it is going to be a lot different it seems in what it does. I think they will stop 2001 then. 50k will be a nice end for it.
