BTW, i just got my ram yesterday as monarch is one slow ass shipper. Mine are duds, they cant even do 270 at spd settings. Are your latest batches being speed binned? I turn the timings to 3,3,3 across the board, still cant do 270. Everyone else seems to hit 275 at SPD settings with ease.
Using Big Toe modded 704.
Whats your TREF and all other settings Haltech.....TREF alone can change 10mhz or higher on clocks.
*Could* be a mem controller issue.
i wish it was vapor but the OCZ PC5000 kit was running 307 on my X@ 3800+ with ease until i slapped these bad boys in. Im not trying to be greedy, but i really do need 280 mhz. 260 Just isnt going to cut it.
I relaxed the settings and even tried with auto. Just no go at 270 even with 2.9 volts.
Rad, i tried the settings Andy gave for the other guy who couldnt hit any higher than 260.

I'm having some issues with TRP at 2 on the Toledo X2 cpu here...it works great on FX and venice though. Might be worth a try.
I pm'ed you RyderOCZ :)
I answered your PM Biohead
:woot:
Ill give those settings a go and see what happens. Thanks. :toast:
Ok, settings didnt work for me. 270 with a multiplier of 8, unable to hit DMI pool and boot into splash screen.. Tried 268, 265 and 263.. At 263, i could get to the welcome screen, garbbled text and graphics, than it hard locks. 258 is ok. :slapass:
Similiar problem here, but it is around 265-270, still have to do some more tweaking, at 270 it doesn't get past the DMI Pool
I think my DFI is overvolting the DIMM, 2.6 .3 enabled was giving me 2.69 in bios >.<
Hmmm...... drive strengths should be Data = 2 and Dram = Normal 4 or 8 depending on bios. TREF should be 1552. Try disabling the Dynamic Idle Counter I believe. BTW, I may have missed this but have you tried changing the slots?
After fiddling with my timings I would do that next ;)
Currently Windows Memtesting
700mb is at 360%
900mb is at 231%
I think it's stable ;) (260 with SPD timings)
You guys might wanna try 2.5-3-2-5 with 2.7 + .03v for around the 250-260 range, i'm at 256 right now and it's flawless.
Why even keep the ram than? For as much as this stuff cost, 275 isnt much to ask for, esp when others are hitting damn near 290! The first time ive been disappointed with an OCZ product.
Yellow performs the same as the orange. Duds.Quote:

As for the whole 255 thing.... With those timings and clocks you can tighten a lot of things, and 11x245 with tighter timings is only 30 points in 3dmark2003 when compared to 10x270 with looser timings.
Don't make me break out the boom stick. :slapass:Quote:

I just got 2GB kit of Corsair XMS3500LL which use a different revision of the same ICs and max is 255 Mhz. The tighter timings make these faster than the OCZ EL4000 even though the EL can hit 270 - 275 Mhz. These seem to top out for 3d benching / gaming for most people (except FX users) around 260 - 265 depending on the core. Your sticks are just fine - thats just all they are going to do with that CPU.
BTW - the Corsair sticks won't even pass DMI screen in the yellow slots.
Agreed, also, how long have you been trying to overclock these Haltech? I hope you tried other timings other than the recommended, figure out which data and drive strength are the best, then tREF, then from there fool around. You never know, you might find a value that might unlock the memory's potential. Then again your memory controller might not be so hot and that might be the cause.Quote:

I need more time to do some extensive testing before I end up doing that though ;)
Im using this as a Video encoding rig, not benching, so timings arent important to me as is with raw clock speed. I need the clock speed to justify the money i dumped into this rig over my Venice/OCZ PC5000 rig.Quote:

Ive tried 3,3,3 across the board. Ive gone about as lose as a hooker in TJ on these settings, im getting no where. Even tried them in a different dfi rig, same thing. So, i dont think its the memory controller considering the Venice can do 307 with no probs with my OCZ PC5000 stuff.Quote:

I still say mem controller, 2x1GB is REALLY demanding on a mem controller....please test the sticks separately in slot 2 (furthest orange).
Ok, ill try them in singles in slot 2.
