Gpu core @1,83V & mem @ 2,35V
is there anywhere online to order the trimmers? couldn't find them on raidoshack.com.. will local shack stores have them in stock?
also, do they come with the double sided tape or where can a noob find such a thing?
^^that's awesome if that's a single 256 card btw...wow
How much volts are u guys giving on the core on the 7800gtx 512? Aircooled, stock and xtreme aircooled :D i mean...
Just need to take original heatsink, apply ceramique and solder the wires of the mod's on the pcb of the vga...
I will put a 92mm tornado on it too

1.83v is too much for a 130nm process on aircooling...i hope this is not air as your unit must be ready to burst into flamesQuote:

yes its on chilled water (chilled by nice weather outside :D )
after some time I will try som DI benching on this video... now i dont have any time to do it... :(
can anyone throw me a bone on if radioshack carries the bourns trimmers though? was gonna go last night but didn't wanna make a wasted trip..

Well just flipping switches hardly takes the card back to stock lol. Since the NV cards run .200 volt lower Vcore (unmodded) in 2D mode it is really unneeded anyway. All the extra wires are just that much more antenna picking up RFI and injecting it directly into the regulator feedback circuits plus instantaneous switching of the voltages when running, especially the memory voltages, is a good way to put you into the land of permanent hurt real quick.Quote:

I modded 3vga's with switches, one of them a 9800xt watercooled benching at 1,95v gpu and never died...do you remember the stock voltage of a 9800xt ?
I could turn the mod's on with the pot's at "default" too, raise later if i want.
The danger will occur only if u give a big jump in voltage.
The swithes are not just for the normal purpose of an on/off but to be able to "rest" the vga during benching...for example between the test selections of 3dmark2001...
btw very nice mod's on your website Viper
Yes at least two that I know of that suffered memory failure on an instantaneous hot Vdd change. Cold changes are of course no problem.Quote:

I really have to update my picture sight as those shots are getting really dated lol.
Viper
If you water cooling the card then why are you worrying about temps anyways? I am doing 680/1410 right now on my 7800gtx w/ core @ 1.68V and have load at around 42C max when running 3dmark05. But whatever, to each his own. Cant wait till I get my vddr mod stuff and sinks (winks at VJ)
 so some updates... as i said befeore, that i will run some DI benches.. so i lied... no DI... but did the run with my Vapo LS... :D on the videocard...
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1571868
so its 675/1620Mhz... ofcourse not always things go as planed... so as my two of best CPU`s died a week ago... the only cpu left vas an 2,7Ghz benchable Venice :( so its only 11060 marks... i need a beter CPU, but that will only happen in January... :(
so no more benches from now... a little later i will post some pics of the setup ;)
so the setup :D (photos are clickable)

so..uh, just theoretically...
if a noob were to use the "wires" method instead...
would there be a better/easier spot to use as ground?
ground on pci-e supplemental power connector.Quote:

would the side bar on these xfx cards work for ground even?. . .
have the card sitting on the counter.. kinda want to try to keel it before xmas.. that way I could have an excuse for not buying anyone anything:p: (sad..)
