i can say this very odd bois can only use X7 and X9 that let my boot past 280 fsb the other will not boot from bois in any Case i love this Bois ,, first time i can use past 285 fsb for ram 4x 512mb

Sorry to burst your bubble but the bios you love so well is fooling you and doesn't take your memoryclock up till where you think it does.

Your explaination of only being able to run high memoryclocks with only 9 and 11 multi confirms the feeling that you have ODC (Odd Divisor Correction) enabled.

Get into your beloved bios and disable this useless option and report back.

I bet ya a beer you won't be able to run the same memoryclocks again.

This ODC option is rather confusing, just like the early A64 days when we didn't have a clue about those half multi's.

Dowload the lastest CPU-Z and check your RAM clocks, this version is supposed to display the right RAM speed.

now i know that i could get slated for this as i have sold the rig on ages ago but i was new to this forum and having a browse and looked in to see that the max u guys had got out of ddr was 315mhz.

Not that mine was any use by i managed to push my patriot (now sold http://overclock.co.uk/forums/viewto...hlight=patriot) 3200xblk up to 355mhz on my nf4 ulta-d with a 3200+ a64 (now sold)


Its indeed not running 32m pie and tbh i never tried it but it would happily mem test for a long long time. Beleive it or not it happened. Just thought i would share.

the "4" multiplier is bugged, meaning... the ram isnt' running @ 355mhz

as explained to me by someone else
the 4 multi x your HTT gives you CPU speed, so, in your case 4 x 355 = 1420mhz
but, to get your mem speed ( here's the bug), it divides your CPU speed by 5, so mem is only running @ 283 with very slack timings

ive been able to do up to 310 MHz at 2.5-3-3-7 1m superpi stable haha. im sure if i didnt have such a crappy processor i could do better.

the memory controllers on the 1mb L2 cache processors suck, right?

Nope, they are fine, been able to pull over 300MHz 1:1 fine with all my Opterons..
