Will do, thanks -- getting her together now

I can't seem to hook up the front USB cables -- got a Lian Li PC-60B usb case with the USB 2 pin connectors -- not socket to plug in.
no CMOS jumper with this board?
looks like you have to "shunt" it yourself lol :) <------as per manual.
Yep, there we go -- I guess I won't need to ever shunt it - eh?
I have it running memtest86. It came with BIOS F5 and I'm running G.SKILL 1G 512X2 F1-3200DSU2-1GBLA on a 3200+ Winchester with retail heatsink and AS5 right now.
Running memtest86 looping test #5 -- chipset cooler is cool with AS5 on it. A bit of a pain to take off the heatsink as mine was sticky with thermal tape crap.
Are you guys only overclocking from windows?
Get that F8 BIOS working chew? I'm wondering what tight timings would be at 250 MHz fsb for TCCD?
I am currently testing GSkill LA 1G and have a set of Patriot 1G PC3200XBL to test too. Jethro seems to be doing better with his Patriot than I am so far with the GSkill LA. I am on F5 BIOS though.
im overclocking from bios. for my TCCD 255 seems to be tops for me with 2.5 3 3 6 1t timings sandra shows 2.5 3 3 3 2 so i dunno but i do know when i change 2t to disabled benchies go up dramatically.
Im still tweaking of course and i may yet do some vmods to the board but for now im enjoying it very much :)
some things i did: went straight to +2 ddr, keep my HTT around 1000 (4x250 right now), disabled Fastwrites and ive already maxed vcore with my poor stepping (fortunately my cooling isnt even breakin a sweat).
Now one thing yah might not like with the F8 bios is the .5 multis are not even there! that kinda bugs me but the perf increase is to much for me to switch back. maybe we'll get a better bios someday but for now if you can deal with no .5's it is rock solid!

No tweaker settings used yet?
I'm good with the old Athlons by a definite A64 newbie. So many things. :)
Yeah thats the bios. Im still unsure about the 255 max but i know im gettin close with current timings. need to learn the MANY timings yet to really max this puppy out but
im a noob with the tweaker myself. Ill prolly sift thru the infamous "tccd" thread and see what some others have found work well and go from there :)
Ok, will look forward to your wisdom :)
yah i overclock with bios only but it seems my 3dmark session the other day has caused my 9800 pro to take a turn for the worse. I underclocked it and it still crashes after playing a game that i ususally play fine. VPU recover keeps kicking in. i even set bios to defauts same thing i KNow its the card the system is rock solid at 250 fsb i ran memtest for 24 hours prime for 48 hours no probs.
Note to self( when gpu core is 350 and memory is 337 running at 460 core 390 memory is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Oddly enough i can crank the heck out of it still in benchies and it dont artifact or crash....... ive tried drivers bioses I give up time to get a x800 xl and a 6600gt agp. I can stick this 9800 pro in a comp that just does desktop stuff no gaming it never crashes then.
Oh well 25k in 3d01 is nothing to cry about with a 9800 pro at least it went out in a blaze of glory.
I would like to know how well the OCZ DDR Booster works on this board. I don't have the time (or just too lazy) to read all 34 pages of this thread. What is the max setting you can use before the board stops tracking? Thanks.
How can one tell if the RAM is running 1:1 with fsb in the BIOS (I use F5)
mine runs 1:1 when set at 200. Id like to try an ddr booster as well! hmm maybe ill order one of them puppies! :D
Is that an MIT setting or is the MIT setting just the cpu fsb? When I look in Advanced Chipset Features I see 200 MHz current memclock but MaxMemclock only has a few options (that's a limiter?).Quote:

Thanks, that is confusing. Memtest86 show memory speed -- but I wondered if it was actually showing fsb speed? So current memclock here is 1:1?
yup! dont forget to adjust that HTT down as you go up! Im learning as i go to:)

I seem to remember reading that the ddr booster works up to 3.6v on this board from OCZ's site but i also seem to remeber reading that you can only use it with 1 stick of memory? maybe you can run dual channel but i know the board does not like running with 3 sticks of memory maybe the ocz ddr booster causes the board to think theyre is 3 sticks installed.Quote:

it will run at 500 at 3-4-4-8 at 2.8 in this board. unfortunately i didn't have 2 sticks so i couldnt test dual channel. but at least i was able to run sync.
My hyper X ddr 333 and mushkin ddr 400 don't like cas 3 in this board.
So how do you guys get 2.85 volts for DIMM like it says in description on front page? I am using F5 BIOS and I can only set it to 2.7 volts. Thanks.
default volts is 2.6v........ if you put it to +.2 its actually 2.8v and the board overvolts somewhat so ur really getting 2.85
