i got all my xp64/raid install issues sorted out.. it ended up being the evga ftw bios.. the only one i can find that allows xp to install on my computer is the A35 bios.. i tried pretty much all of them.. i am going to check out what is changed in the bios to see what is blocking xp from installing on them.. seems kind of strange to me especially when ubuntu will load on any of them.. i can not help from thinking it is due to the release of a newer better windows..
VTT= 1.3v

guys any dibs on how to get past 4.3Ghz on this chip??
i see thanks..well i read over some thread that some batches are good clockers some needed more juice..
i was thinking of adding more voltage but just got curious maybe my stuff(components) are holding me off on reaching past that range..
mine needs a bunch more juice when going from 4.0-4.2 using 20x.. like 1.42 cpu, 1.21-2 vtt.. temps hit 80-82.. these chips are toasters.. i can get 4.4 on the turbo using 21x at about the same volts...my cooling is pretty decent but it needs another radiator and maybe a better block.. this v2 runs warm on this 4core compared to cooling my e8500 at 1.49v cpu and nb at 1.51v which never went above 65-68..
i saw that most of the people are pushing some crazy vtt on those chips, my gigabyte mobo goes purple after 1.21 vtt, is it safe pushing 1.3+ vtt?
CPU @ 4ghz / RAM @ 2000mhz
Vcore = 1.32V
IMC = 1.19V
PLL = 1.8V
VDimm = 1.61V
Idle Temps about 38 to 42
Load Temps about 64 (Prime95) and 72 (LinX)
Tested stability using Prime95 and LinX

First post here, so be gentle :)
I have the following setup:
i5 750 @ 3.8GHz 19X200
RAM @ 2000MHz
vcore @ 1.28v
vtt @ auto
Gigabyte P55A-UD4P
Cooling with Prolima Mega rev. B
My temps are:
Idle - 20c
Prime95 Load at 1 hour - 42c, but one core gets to 53c
A few questions for the experts:
1. Should I set vtt to something or leave it on auto if it's working?
2. Is Prime95 for 1 hour a decent load test or should I run longer before calling it stable?
3. I'd like to go for 4 or 4.2GHz, but I understand the diminishing returns factor. Any recommendations for how far I should try and what settings I should try at the higher speeds?
Many thanks!!
i am new to these i5's but i think if you keep your cpu volts below what intel specs them for i think 1.42 or 1.45 can't remember right now, keep vtt below intel spec.. 1.22 and good enough cooling to keep temps around 80 full load you should be fine.. i think they throttle at 99-100 to protect them self. i also think with any luck most of these 750's should be able to hit 4.0 with about 1.36 cpu or even less and 1.21/2 vtt.. i think at those volts with any decent air or water cooler you should be able to run it way longer then the diminishing return factor even factors in because i think that was factored in running 75-80 on the stock cooler.. yeah maybe loose a year of proc life but gain major e peen from super high oc on a pretty inexpensive chip running right at the top of volt specs..
yes i am there 2 with my ud4 and i5 4ghz @ 1.368v , vtt @1.21, still i think something's wrong with this mobo cause the cpu does 2.8ghz with just 1.232v and still i need such a huge 1.368 to get to 4ghz, load temps @ low 70's under prolima megahalem rev b. I wonder about the vtt cause it get's purple @ 1.23+, but it only get's red @ 1.61v . It's really odd to to max specs out @ only 1.21

Some 4.5ghz+ benching on air :rolleyes:

Those are some nice numbers cole2109 and xdan.....Good Job :up:
Just curious, what are your temps on load?
LDN
4400 MHz (21x210 MHz)
Vcore:1.384V, Vtt: 1.225V

Also 2 hours of COD4 at 4500 MHz and (i think) 1.41V :wasntme:
hi guys, what's the best motherboard for i5 750@OC ??
L939B*** (i think 474)
Don't know the number really. I'm not taking it out of the system again. Did it to many times in last weeks.
And with DICE:

Maxed out by BCLK wall on my GD80. I tried with two different CPUs and both did the same, but the first one barely made it over 5 GHz. Sadly setting it on 1 or 2 cores for 24 multi made it worse (5050 MHz maxed with one core, 5150 for 2).
Hi,
I just bought new set of ram PC3 DDR3 15000 (1866) link at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231280 pix below
http://i47.tinypic.com/67tt35.jpg
See CPU tab in "QPI link" show 3839mhz and See Memory tab in "NB Frequency" shows 3413 mhz pix above.
I was wonder if i should change QPI link from 3839mhz to 3413 match same number from NB Freq ? or just leave it ?
This rams can OC from 1866 to 2133 tops, I tried go higher to 2200 no luck.
I like this ram and fast.
PS. keep it up open new thread for i5 750 is not dead yet.:up:
