What do you guys think of the DFI LAN Party Model NFII Ultra B

Sorry i was under the impression that it was infact my thread since i started it.

Sorry if i feel i need to express my impression on that POS DFI board.. Worst board i've ever had.. And yes this AN7 sucks as well.. There is no good boards left out there for the NF2 chipset.

Thats why i'm hunting for a good board for the 64 system since my chaintech also sucks..The Leadtek board sucks as well for the Opteron.

Heh if anyone out there knows of a good motherboard period then i'll try it cause everything is sucking.

Oh BTW..My Abit AN7's voltages are all dead on! ALl way over spec to what i have the post set at on my Antec TC 550WATT P/S.

3.3 is at 3.46
+5.0 is at 5.22
12v is at 12.66v

The same readings i get from the molex connector as well hehe. What that DFI say?

With my infinity I cant even OC my 2500+ by multiplier and high vcore. Voltages are low and fluctuate on a true power 430..

My AN7 sucked too. Really annoyed basically.

Yeah theres really no end in site for me pete. I'm about to just let my wife choose the next board since i cant make the right decision any more! If that will be for the 64 or opteron or FX system who knows where i'll end up.. hehe the only thing i havent tried yet is the FX and my wife will leave me if i order up one.. so she says. lol

Someone mentioned hand soldered resistors near mosfet area... doesn anybody have pics? I f the y add caps to that area it might mean there's an experimental fix to fix weak 5v/vcore lines.

My Infinity runs GREAT with OLD DDR.
This OCZ PC3200 rev2 was bought in Jan03. Im pretty sure its BH5.

What Im thinking is .... you guys having problems with re-boots what DDR are you using and how old is it??

I have read of issues with the NEW or actually last batch of the BH5 chips not being very compatable with the newer nForce chipsets.

My Mushkin 3500 L2 BH5 sticks are atleast 5 months old.

any known issues with KHX3200 BH5 and this mobo? i have two dual channel kits of the stuff to test out. if neither do well in it, newegg gets em back and ill be getting mushkin because my 8rda+ either has an issue with the kingston or needs mor vdimm to run 225@2-2-2-5(only 2.88v)

I think my AN7 and inifinity hate my ram while my old non ultra NF7S had no problem. I am guessing I have BH5. It was always board limited before. I thought I could stretch its legs but the boards must hate them. Cant even run 200 on either of the new boards I tried.

What kind and how old is your DDR?

High temps on the Dfi board..

Try to fix some cooling on them to get more stability!

Yellow=50->
Red=70-> (very high temp :/)

Higher Vmem = Red temp goes higher.

i have brand new BH5 in the form of KHX3200.

i have ram sinks for all the lil chips on this board.. i have 8 now and 24 more comming.

i think im gunna try 4 ram sinks on the SB, i think that may get better contact than the stock SB sink and with some airflow on it should cool fine. right?

Does the Infinity like that new BH5?

i havent had time to test it.

for anyone interested, heres a pic of the ICs to the right of the cpu socket on my infinty.

i beleave the smaller one is the vcore reg. i pulled up some specs of it, seems pin3 to ground with XXXX resistance will be out vcore mod. possibly 5k ohm or something.... thats the pin that detects the outgoing voltage and so if than is resisted it should yeild higher voltage to the cpu socket.... in theory. much like how i found the vdd mod on the AN7.. but fried it due to lack of resistance.. i grounded the in.. :rolleyes: no mroe late night vmod testing.:p:

That's not vcore reg. Vcore reg is near the mosfets, on the agp slot and it's labelled HIP6301. Mod is pin7 to ground with 50k pot.

Thank you :) I don't know what's on my mobo as I'm not at home right now, however I don't remember that hand jobs on my mobo. This pic made me remember about another observation: have you seen how many missing caps are on the pcb? They are those circular areas, half white and half red, in which you can measure the voltages with DMM. Well it seems that voltage problems are either due to missing caps (whose work is to be a buffer all along the board), either due to poor voltage regulator or bad high resistance traces on the pcb; I know I'm speculating a lot but this is what I suppose will reveal how to make this board fly...

that circled in red is really hot on my board too! After that I provided some cooling on the back, I was finally able to use all vdd while before I was stuck at 1.7v. I suppose that can also help stability for all having problems at high vcore/high vdimm in the same time.

thanks though i wont need it for a while.. my infinity was DOA.. major voltage issues of some sort.. ym cpu fan would speed up and slow down all over the place so i assume the rest was like that then finally it wouldnt boot at all, ohwell newegg gets another RMA from me.
