Thank you Pt1t
any info about the updates?
for me the F4f performs still really nice, no issues :)
max fsb updated with new chip, still on air: 665.84 MHz :D
Yep I see details here 06.10.08
GA-EP45T-Extreme - TestBeatBIOS F5b But no download link ??
huu too bad i cant try.. my ep45t extreme just simply unconcsious back from GOOC.. with my p5e3 premium has just been sold, i might stick to lappie first and wait for nehalem :(
Funny, mine died in it's box after not being used for ~10 days :D I think there are gremlins in my house benching while I sleep :shakes:
Revisited my brothers EP45T-EXTREME
flashed to bios F5B
Once again OCZ doesn't let me down doing 2000Mhz easy with 333 and 400 memory straps

My "700mhz dual core actived ready EP45T-Extreme" is dead :(
So, are newers boards based on the rev A3 of P45 ?
sorry guys but far from "extreme" dq6 deserves to be dubbed extreme
1.80vtt @ extreme
1.94vtt @ dq6
so much for extreme
the cpu part of the mobo is good but the culprit is the ddr3
im able to system boot q9650 up to 4.8ghz 534x9 but no os boot @ 4.8 neither @ 4.5
ive tried different ratios/mem timings vdimm @ 2.5 actual 2.7
you guys have any suggestions/recommendations/tips/what not on how i can get it to os boot on my 2 x 1GB supertalent 2000ddr3
im deciding whether to get more ddr3 kits or just get another dq6 and be done with it..
hello,
this board interests me .
has someone over quad cpu's (like q9650) and ddr3 (like Pc3-16000 Dimms) performance information about FSB trough the NB and Dimms?
regards
achim
Yes,people have overclocked quads on this board.
Most recently NightRaven broke a 3DMark WR in 06 on it.
Any new bios out?
I gave up on my E8600 and got a Q9550 and it clocks pretty good on this board. I guess I just had an awful E8600 OCer.
My Q9550 can get up to 4.2 at only 1.45vcore and is stable at 4.0.
I didn't take another shot of it after an hour however I plan on running Orthos again this weekend after more tweaking.

I noticed something else on this board. I guess the new E0 stepping is equipped with some new power saving features. The E0 has C1E, C2E and C4E I guess it's progressively a better power saving feature in the BIOS. When I put the Q9550 C0 stepping those features went away except for the C1E that's been around for a while.
Either that or it's just available for dual core and not quad core.

The thread is old but some are still beching this awesome board :D. Some results with mu CPUs on SS phase change and NB with stock cooling + fans.

And some tests with the magic F4f BIOS

E8400 @6GHz validated - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1222852
E8200 @5360MHz validated - http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1222958 (cant go higher even with lower multy. Very good chip but not a good one for high FSB)
775 will never die :D.
can you post your bios settings for voltages?
thanks

It was something like that the freq I booted and rising with ET6 for more. Most voltages on auto I was too lazy to set all manual :D. Not sure for the MCH Core 1.64 or 1.7v for 692 fsb, but for sure its working with 1.56 about 670. Also 670 Pl10 not a problem with memory 1340 @5-5-5-15, just left it 15 to be sure it is not stopping me.
hahahha lazy auto....
thank you very much..i appreciate the help....
last night was a terrible 5.4ghz run lol...
i'll try again later.....
many thanks again
The most important settings are CPU/MCH clock skews and of course VTT. For dual core keep the diffrence at 150. For example CPU clock skew 150, MCH clock skew 0, or CPU 300, MCH 150(CPU 200 or MCH 50 just experiment. I have tested about 4-5 diffrent 8xxx CPUs all of them are working fine with 150 diffrence between CPU and MCH skew and no problem reaching 650FSB which was the maximum with F4 BIOS). CPU termination 1.6v is the perfect one if u are lazy to try MCH reff manually like me :D if u are not u can try to set it and eventually u ll lower the VTT. And for sure if u are going for fsb u have to use F4f BIOS I tried many and cant go over 650-660 with other one. Also keep 2.00D for the memory if u get the right settings u can try for higher RAM multi :).
Good luck!

The time is bad I was just trying the max FSB. I think it can past even higher may be 680 fsb the CPU maximum is arround 5750-5800MHz, didnt tried with lower multy.
