Chipset is Air ;) (Stock HS)
do you guys know if the 4GB HZ and the 2GB HZ use the same modules?
are your sticks double sided?
I was planning on buying the 4GB HZ kit but since people here are happy with their 2GB kits, I may opt for 2 sets of the 2GB.
I have asked the same question on GSkill support thread but haven't gotten a response yet.
Thanks
I have a q9450 that has done between 3.7-3.8 GHz on ABit IP35 Pro on air with Thermalright 120 Extreme.
I am planning on getting this x48 board along with 2 ATI 4870s since I have been happy with my Asus WS board and need the x48 chipset to get the most out of the crossfire.
Do you think I can squeeze more speed out of the CPU with this board?
Also on average, how much of an extra overclock on the quad cpu should I expect if I switch to decent watercooling?
+1 We know you do it the air way, what about Vnb for example ?
I meet a wall when setting anything from 1,59vnb. Quite boring  I think I didn't changed the thermal paste correctly( what else reason for would the vnb bug this much high vnb voltages boots???)... I'm also under air for the vnb, it is, at alny setting, not too hot at all so I think the contact isn't bad atm. Would a 12 centimeters in tubing water cooling be efficient to solve my issue or is it the mobo I finnally wonder :p: ??
Bye
Is there anything wrong with my mainboard ? When I set 1.61vnb and whatever other settings arround the computer doesn't boot at all.
NB heat pipe is not too hot, as it should be I think. I get 33/D9/31... codes and the ram diag led is permanently lighted on in that case.
Any idea? Thx
On my MB the max NB voltage I can set and still boot is 1.61 (I use stock NV cooler with replaced TIM and a 120 mm fan blowing on it). I think it is a heat/protection issue but don't know for sure.
I am quite annoyed with my MB right now. It could run Prime 95 blend for 22 h at 445x9 8-7-7-24 1N but would give spontaneous BSODs at idle. I'm pretty sure that (like others have reported) that it is caused by using Performance LLC since I tested everything at stock speed all voltages on auto and LLC on Performance and got a BSOD while surfing.
Is this a quadcore exclusive issue since I see all of you Wolfdale users (and 2GB memory users) beeing happy as can be. I know Rob Halford also have this experience but is it common or isolated observations? Is it reason for RMA (I guess not since LLC Auto/Normal is following Intel spec). It ruins my OC to use LLC Normal since I have a huge V-drop.
Thx Holmer. I don't think it would be because of any heat, because I notice -even at high frequencies on FSB and ram that it is cold as should be, not more. Not sure neither. Right now I'm thinking to find the VNB reading point to try any pencil mod of it, but I never could find the place to apply the pencil :(
About the LLC on My C2D, I leave it on performance all the time, vdroops too much without it. But with a quad I don't know yet, should give it a try :)
Same here Holmer. LLC set to performance = bsod. Using auto with my daily settings (9.5 X 421 @1.35v) same. If i set normal everything is fine. With E8500 that is..
Not tried them yet tbh. I think i may need better cooling for NB first, its very very stock right now :D
Yes - thermal compond on NB was changed to ceramic but pads were left on mosfets and SB
I tried 1:1 once and it didn't boot. Then I went back to 2:3 with much higher memory clocks and it booted. I don't have much time to experiment in bios because of my video card cold bugQuote:

tested tonight @ LN2 this mobo have ColdBoot @ -105 and ColdBug @ -120 :mad::mad::mad:
bad news for the coldboot hiwa
the LLC set to performence is really a pain in the ass, have the PC 24\7 always on since friday and no problems, today i needed to restart and after 1m turned on caput reboot
change it the LLC to normal and so far 100% stable again, is there any "real" explantion for this?
regards:up:
Hu there,
I would like to know how I should proceed to use the NB_OV on this mobo, I don't know which pins to get connected. The manual doesn't tell... does anybody knows?
Thx
dont know either, try the Vmods section of the forum where normaly is posted that kind of stuff.
dont get mad there are worst things in life :p:
just sell the board it wont be hard to find buyers and try another model with already good results and no coldbug
ok, thanh you. Here I just want to make sure (english not good enough...): If I want to get the possibility to set more than 1.57v on the NB, I must solder pin 2&3 or 1&2 ? I ask it again also because I got another answer telling me to get 1&2 connected to enable overvoltage on NB... Or I misunderstood that answer ??
I need to be certain of that before proceeding, I hope you understand why I ask for it again.
You get only 1.57 without OV jumper? Isn't 1.9V max without a jumper?
Does any guru here know if the P5E64 Evo can support DDR3-1333 4X2G RAM? I have ordered this board and should have it next week and planning to run it with a QX9650 and the OCZ3P16004GK (2X2G kit, 2kits). I got this at the same price as the DDR3-1333 kits. I am not looking to OC so I will just be running them @ DDR3-1333 speed. Will they work on this board for a total up to 8G stable?
I can't seem to run them stable on my current X48T-DQ6......
