PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us know how well it folds at 3+Ghz! OMFG that would make my day. I also need to know if it can handle the SMP Client while overclocked. A lot of overclocked CPUs cause constant errors on the SMP client because it sniffs out ANY system instability you have. The SMP F@H client is the best test for system stability. If any of you don't believe me, try it out.
waiting for my paycheck to pick me up a new 9850 to drop in my M3A32-MVP to see how the Asus likes these new Phenoms.
I will be taking it to the next Team ATL meet to see how they do under Ice and Cascade.
Fugger if your willing to share the temps that the coldbug (if one exists) shows it's face when you get yours.
waiting on the weather :D
Wow, that's pretty crazy if a Phenom beats a Kentsfield/Yorkfield clock for clock.
I think the 3dmark run there could have been a glitch... I found this other run...
Check out this Q6600s CPU score @ 3401MHz

Simply put:
All I see is Phenom approaching C2D territory. They aint there yet. Stock off the shelves ??? AMD has an argument. A Competitor.
has DFI comment on rolling a new board with the SB700?
This certainly looks promising. Bulldozer should really make things interesting.
Tony is a qualified rep, and would not rig a bench in favor of either brand.
His benches were ran completely fair and similar to one another.
Yes XP will gain a couple points over Vista, but lets not turn this into a Intel vs AMD thread.
Tony has already gone against his original post to state anything about an Intel bench, mainly because he didn't want this to start happening. The only reason he posted the comparison is to show that AMD is starting to reach Intel with the B3 revision as far as performance. Let's leave it at that.
Thank You
@ Fugger, waiting for some nice screenies, Sir!! :)
@ Tony, amazing work, thanks for sharing!! Vista really is a sucker for CPU score heh!!
First review of the Phenom 9550 here (in Chinese):

They were able to overclock it to 2.86GHz:

Looks like most B3's are good overclockers, limited largely by their multipliers, unlike the B2's. A 9750, with its 12x multiplier, might turn out to be a cheap and easy way to get to 3GHz.
I wont take this thread off topic, mine should be here by this weekend.
Just understand that I am more apt to showing the wins on Intel.
Tony, what happened with the benchmarks and the performance comparison between the differently clocked NB & L3 of a 3GHz Phenom?
I had to go back to work guys, benching takes time away from what i do for a living so i have to balance the two. Also the Gigabyte bad flashed and the DFI has a boot to bios issue so im battling a board at the moment to try and get the clocks i had with the DQ6. Hitting reset 10 times each time you boot because the board hangs loading bios with a blue bar and flashing cursor really can do ones head in ;)
I will do my best to run off some benches, in the mean time please if you get a phenom just join the fun here, see how well it does and post some results.
Anyone tested this with an AX78, I'm looking to get one for the next build and want to drop a Phenom in, need to know if it clocks well.
I don't know if any has tested the b3 coldbug temp, but due to how high the other amd chips are (especialy the b2s), I'd say a chiller or single stage would be a better idea (a properly tuned single stage would probably be the best, but that would mean retuning an old unit or making a new one)

That bench is in XP, I ran 2x ultra's on the same build of vista64 with the same video driver...how can my score be glitched?
Also I was running as close to stock FSB as I could to remain apples to apples, HTT makes no difference on Phenom so running 250 or 200 is no different.
@Tony: Can you run sandra latency test without freezing in the 3GHz area? That test always freezes my machine above ~2.85GHz, can prime 2.9GHz fine for hours but that special test always leads to freezing.
