9800GX2 Water Blocks...

When you guys mention "spacing for the back of the card" do you mean to keep the back of the card (end with power connectors) from flexing or bending? It does look like it could use some spacers back there to secure it better (since the card is so long). Although it wouldn't look great you could certainly get away with using nuts and bolts to keep the back of cards spaced properly (just double nut the bolt at each card)? Also what is the distance between the inside of both PCB's (look at picture below for crappy drawing), lol.

I have installed my EK:) I love it:) Temps are 28-ilde 36 max stress!! Its amaizing:))) Im so exited because its my first GPU block:)

Do we have any information regarding the restriction of EK 9800GX2 WB comparing to other 9800GX2 WBs?

its an EK, all the FC blocks from EK are about the same. IDK about all the other blocks but id assume their similar to their single card counter parts

Its a completely different block design and the restriction in it is nothing like a normal single gpu block.

If anything perhaps similar to the 3870x2 block.

How are people configuring their water cooling loop with two GX2s? I'm worried that I might be forced (without additional hardware) to put them in parallel due to a lack of space under the bottom card. Are there any drawbacks to this?

I will be getting the EK blocks, so I will be able to reverse the nozzles. Think it might be possible to flow out (or into) the bottom card via a shorter nozzle (like the EK stubby) or will I need an elbow of some variety?

Edit: I'm an idiot, just realized these aren't reversible since they are essentially two blocks already in parallel. Guess this means I need an elbow.

Well nice one, my block arrived today and I've set it all up.

Run's a treat. Just did a few runs in 3dmark 06 and 03 at 790/1998/1150, no artifacts, no problems.

Favourable comparison to previous tests I've done on air, with case open, aircon on max and fans blowing in on the case. 756/1944 was just about achievable, but with artifacting. Certainly wouldn't make it through 3d mark 03 Troll's lair at that speed. So actually pretty surprised at the difference it's made.

Idle about 34-35c and load about 40c. Ambient temp = Sat in shorts. VGPU = 1.2v for both cards.

Im able to set for 3dmarks 780 1160 1915 without artifacts:)And with qx9650@4454mhz i have 78770 marks so its nice:) unfortunetly
my Abit X38 dont support any othet multiper than 9.5 thats why i can set FBS only at 469max:(
still... EK block is nice:)

P.S anyone know when the new drivers for 9800GX2 and win XP will come?

I would love a comparision between the EVGA, EK, and DD versions in terms of how they are designed, how they perform, and for goodness sakes how much they weigh . . .Looks like EVGA did a sweet job tho . . .now make your own mobo blocks guys! copper

I really like the Evga package, looks very finished. I just hope it's readily available and priced right.

That evga sticker is kinda annoying looking, I wants to see the copper in all its glory!

I saw that sticker too and thought it was a test block or something. Not too subtle branding.

I think it might be their version of a warranty sticker.

I.e. if seal is broken kind of thing.

I really like the barb layout on that EVGA blocks, with two barbs on a single side possible. Unlike EK and Danger Den, one doesn't have to use a 90 degree barb adapter for the bottom/side of a Mountain Mods case. In a Horizon case with EK/Danger Den, a 90 degree barb is absolutely necessay because of the pass through design. This is neat and wins massive brownie points from me.

i noticed Petra's has the EK 9800gx2 blocks in stock and they are only $179.99, $30 cheaper than the DD ones.. and the EK ones look better imo too
