I have the same case as you and was also surprised by the nb temps (45@load).I pulled of the heatpipes and installed the swiftech mcw30, now i havent seen anything above 31c.;)
after pulling the heatpipes, what did you do about the SB and mosfets? Can I get a picture???
I'm loving this board so far... Definately more complicated than the Abit, but I'm already stable at higher clocks with lower volts on my 9650. Haven't started playing with the memory yet, but I'm looking forward to getting there!
it looks like i have a problem with ICH9 or HDD. When the computer stop responding the HDD led is lighing constant. i have no idea what i shall do!
i'm not running raid and have x64 xp.
i'm have Lian Li V1000 so all the heat goes from NB to SB :S
shall a cut the heatpipe or buy a 40mm fan ?
OK, no matter what I do, I cannot get ANY divider to work now??? It's hanging on DET DRAm. UGH. 1:1 is it. I know I saw someone else having the same issue but I don't remember where I saw it. I'm on BIOS 0903. If there are issues with dividers, maybe it should be added to the OP.
can some1 explain me short what this strap is all about? Is lower or higher better? ( 266 -400)? this seems to cause some O/c problems right?
See the OP under "BIOS settings and what they do". It links to an article on Anandtech that explains this. (there is more than this blurb)
Quote:
FSB Strap to Northbridge: Auto, 200, 266, 333, and 400. There once was a time when this single setting controlled a whole series of MCH performance configuration registers. Implemented in its current form, this option does little more than determine what memory dividers are available for use.
Thnx FZ1, it is now clear
I got a Enzotech CNB-S1L. But after mounting a part of the board burned out(don`t know right words in english). So you used Ceramique for SB. Chill Factor should be also ok!?
What cooler do you use for NB? Also used AS Ceramique? Perhaps I will try your version of half pipe removing for SB and NB and stick with the rest for mosfets.
Edit:
Here 2 pics of the burned part:

Here I have marked it in red but you have to look closely:

To get it right:
-thermal paste on both NB(heatspreader) and SB(no heatspreader) (using HR-05 IFX SLI for NB)
-using Chill Factor instead of AS5 (only have this both)
-using hair dryer for removing again (note for me)
-find a small screwdriver for removing NB backplate (note for me again)
Yes the Enzotech one for SB with Chill Factor thermal paste, I left that out in the post.
maximun spees :)
i use a e8500

I got one for you guys...
So I've been playing with my OC for the last couple hours and I'm having a blast. Running 4.0 on my quad and my mem @ 1200. No problems (after figuring out crazy complicated bios)
I was doing some priming when I happened to notice that CPU-Z told me that I only had 3 gigs of memory... I flipped out thinking I had blown a stick and booted into bios. Bios says I still have 4 gigs... So I boot back into OS and CPU-Z still says 3 gigs.
I shut down and let it be for a minute and rebooted...
Gues how much ram I have now???

WTF???
can someone tell me whats going on here??? lol
One of your sticks has reproduced! LOL :D
I get weird readings like that in cpuz too. It only happens when i try for high FSB speeds. Sometimes all my fan control doesn't work in speedfan as well. I kinda wish that AISUITE worked with the 0907 bios. Anyone else having that problem?
