I have seen some comments here about rolling back. I am curious to know what issues those of you that did had with 903? Thanks.

Aha. Thanks for the information. I'd be interested in hearing from any others who have done the same for other reasons also...
I have the P5E3 Deluxe Wifi but it wouldn't boot with my DDR3 1600MHz ram in.
So I got some 1066 ram, managed to boot and then updated the BIOS from 301 to 903. Now it does boot with the faster ram but it hangs during POST, saying:
Initializing USB controllers ..
When I put the 1066 ram back in, it boots again. The 1066 is Kingston Value Ram (it's on the QVL). Everything in this system is brand new - no OS installed yet. I haven't tried over-clocking yet - all the BIOS settings are on Auto.
The faster ram is I'm trying to use is:
2x1GB CellShock DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (7-6-6-18) Dual Channel kit
Is it possible to use this ram? Should I use the 1066 to boot, then manually change the DRAM Frequency to 1600MHz and the DRAM Voltage to 1.9 (that's the value written on the DIMMs). Then install the faster ram, and try booting.
Would I be able to change these settings again if it still doesn't work?
Thanks,
looks like everyone is happy with this board, i don't see anyone complaining... yes 903 BIOS seems to hold on fine.
I removed the Wireless card and restarted the machine, obviously Express gate disappeared but somehow I got a second USB storage device in addition to my Readyboost USB flash drive. So what I’m trying to say is, maybe its possible something is wrong with the wireless card on b3n’s machine and hangs trying to initialize USB device? …. I don’t know, maybe remove all your USB device and try to boot the system?
A few times when I booted, there were more USB devices being detected than were present but that hasn't happened since 903.
There are no USB devices connected. I even used the USB-to-PS2 adapter for the keyboard and disconnected the case USB ports from the motherboard.
I have "crash" problem too! At 1600Mhz C7, or C6 randomreboot after 1-6h!
I tryed to go down with tight C6 (1443Mhz), 24h stable, 36h stable, 37h crashing, bluescreen.....! If I`m using default settings, OK! But the performance at 1333Mhz mem., 3Ghz proc.=bull....it!
I got this at default settings:

Now !`m testing at 1333Mhz, but more tight timings, I hope, that this will be 24/7 stable. I don`t know, that this is only memoryproblem, or X38 chipset problem.......:shakes:

I'm working to ensure everything is stable too. I had the same issue. It will run for quite a bit of time without error, but then it will BSoD. I read somewhere that with the OCZ RAM, even though it says the voltage range is 1.90 to 1.95, if you set it to 1.80, you will get stability. So, that is what I am testing now. This is what I am working with currently:

I'm having the same problem, running at 1600Mhz C7, I get a hard lock when running DVDfab Decriptor on dvd's, it was the same with 601 and now 903 bios. I can play games for hours, run pi32m and no problem, fold for hours and no problems, but when I'm copying files from a DVD - hard lock!
Here's another thing running everything in the bios at default this is what cpu-z has to say....
my board is constantly looping and no display on one of those POSTCARDS
looks like the board is dead
i didn't even spend more than a few hours in testing
didn't mod it nor did i get a change to put it on subzero
 this sucks!
I should feel lucky.... I haven’t had any problems within the past few weeks... Runs good...
Pushing my 1333’s to just under 1600 (1543)… But then again I’m still using the Q6600 and Bios 601
Has anyone tried dual 8800's on this board...? Thinking about adding another card...

from what i've seen results wise i'd be trying to downgrade to 0504 bios
seems like the best for RAM OCs
yeah, this board does not support SLI.. but crossfire yes
edit - sorry wrong thread
Hello,
I have qx9650 and P5E3 WiFi 0601. RAM is corsair 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600. I need some advise to make my PC run stable at 1600. I am currently running at 400x9. It passed PI 32MB, memtest, 4 hours of prime (did not have time to run longer test), but my PC ramdonly locks up 1 or 2 times a day. It often locks up while simple web surfing and watching video files. Once I changed the setting to run at 333x11 ram: 1333, my PC runs perfectly stable all day long. So I think my problem is I am not overclocking the ram properly. Could you please help me solve this problem?
Do I need to increase NB voltage?
Here is my current setting:

@Sitti,
I see very low Vcore at 3.6...you must have a very good chip there..give a little more up to 1.35 and try again..
He's using QX9650, 1.30v for 3.6GHz is normal.
Ohh ..didnt see that...sorry:hammer: ...well.. little vcore more didnt harm nobody..:p:
