i think tha GKX are better couse the "listtening" better on voltage that means that you can go higher with lower Volts than GMH
A little update :D
I was thinking....if I have 4Gb RAM of Crucial powah (2x1Gb Ballistix 8500 + 2x1Gb 10th Anniversary),why shouldn't I give them a try and see what I can do with all 4 of them.
2.275v
5-5-5-15................600Mhz - DDR2 1200
5-4-4-4...............583.6Mhz - DDR2 1165
2.25v
4-4-4-12................500Mhz - DDR2 1000 Orthos Blend Stable
I am really pleased with the way the mobo and the 2 kit worked out together....Sweeeeeeeeet :D
:yepp: Very nice
Little test with 2.19V vDimm and Performance Level 5 on Asus P5K DLX. It´s 4GB of Ballistix PC2-8500.

Hi guys. today morning I have tested my new pair of PC 8500 Ballistix.
here is the result.
http://images.netbag.hu/20071028/10322899953.jpeg
i used 2.45v VDimm and a single 80mm fan.
Ordered mine just yet, let's hope i get a pair like loc.o's.
I ordered 2 seperate sticks as the DC kits were out of stock.
1 stick €52,- DC kit €115,-
You pay an extra €11,- for what? For the sticks being "matched" ? lol
these sticks run hot is there any fan mod/trick anyone can show me a pic of and tell me what i need to use
Corsair Dominator Airflow ;)

sorry but it is a greek shop but i am sure you can find it :)
Got mine today, all i can say, they're good!
Running 400 4-4-4-12 @only 2.05V, 500 4-4-4-12 with 2.2V and got the highly elusive DDR 1200 4-4-4 at 2.55V, stable enough to run 1M. :)

I tried running 1M with 2.5V but unfortunatey it errored.
Pretty happy with my "unmatched sticks" .
Ballistix on P35 chipset ;)
the bad think is that my Abit can't work with Cl4 3-3-3 and they are with cl4 4-4-4 2,25V rock stable :)
i will try for 1300Mhz i know the can on my striker extream the were able to run on that frequency :)

for any 1 in the UK, micro is selling the 5300 6400 & 8500 (2x 1gb)
far cheaper than anywhere around. £65 for a set of 8500, cant beat that :)
ordered them today, giving up on my ocz reapers :(

I stumbled upon the same deal to ;), I am also giving up on my OCZ 9200 Flexxlc's. Had endless problems with them all the way.
Ordered 4x1GB of Ballistix 8500. I would love to know what everyones experience is with these running 4 x 1GB (4GB). I notice that 'olDirdey' has them running at DDR1200 on the same Mobo as me.
Question:
What will I be able to run 4x1GB of Ballistix at 24/7?
Mateh what ever frequency could stay stable with low voltage will be very good for 24/7 ;)
what are the current ICs for these things??
better then my good ol gskill 8000HZ GKX sticks??
ooeric D9GKX's :)
was looking to get two kits last week but i thought id wait a bit and now they cost 122$ instead of 176$ last week :D and this is in sweden where we normally pay 30-40% more.
Mateh:
Look in this thread one page behind and you will find some 4x1Gb Ballistix tested. I even ran 2x1Gb Ballistix with 2x1Gb Anniversary's and they worked juuust fine :)
Both have been used.
yhes both of those are used but mostly GMH :) according to this http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/
My ballistix pc8500 sticks are running 600mhz 5-5-5-x 1.98v , 610 4-4-4-x 2.55v and 686 5-5-5-x 2.55v.
crucial rocks :D
I've just tried some Mushkin PC2 9200 Cas 5-5-4 stuff. This is at 3.25Ghz (325x10) 1:2 on a Maximus Formula SE, 2.45Vdimm, 0 tweaks:

just got a pair of 8500s thru the mail and somehow my pair sucks big time.
totally refused to post anything at most settings at 1066 speeds. the only time it boot was when i ran default settings on my P5K premium.
i was running at 5-5-5-15-4-42- shld be 10-13-5 or something.
despite shutting down the power and restarting, somehow the motherboard refused to even revert back to default settings and report a oc failure unlike with my previous rams.
i pumped 2.45v and most voltages in the bios are at the max (CPU is at 1.5375)
total disappointment.
