One or a handful - it's the same. Everybody interested was unlikely to score one. I don't think they would have got a "shipment" of 3 or 4 cpu's so they could sell them on their site. The one they sold gorod was most likely a sample which they received from AMD or another oem. May I ask, why wouldn't put just one cpu up on their website for sale? 1 cpu sold is 1 cpu sold. They made no guarantees of quantities and availability so it wouldn't be out of the question if they only had that one. I'm pretty sure Monarch will be one of the first sites with quantities available for the cpu. This was just one of those one-time deals......Quote:

I plan on testing this chip, gonna probably grab a 3700+ San Diego, and see how that does, and eventually an FX57. It's gonna be like a revolving door for hardware around here for the next few months.
Link works for me fine - maybe you need to clear cache or something?
Nice... I guess I'll wait for Monarch, though... Just few more days and ~$25 in a pocket for us, Californians ;)
Agh, WTF I've waited this far, no reason to cancel at monarch and eat almost a $30 price jump with fed ex shipping and 6.6% tax.
HOWEVER, I don't want to hear any more crap from today on out about Monarch being AMD's most beloved etailer. As in the case of venice it turned out to be pure :bs:
How ironic the least expected etailor to have it first turned out to be the one to have it first after all. :smileysex
Come on...
So what that Newegg has them three days before Monarch? How much difference does it make? None! No big deal... Jeeezzz... People chill out a bit! All that Venice euphoria :)
I'll get mine when Monarch has it, no biggie... Few days here or there... :)
dam, i would have never thought it would take 53 pages till we saw one we could order. *snickers* Lets see some max overclocks with/without those memory ratios.
I'm tempted, just becasue they're new and fun... but what's the best it could do? I have a winny that runs 24/7 @ 2700mHz...
Now a 4000+ SD, that'll catch my eye.

oh my god, the iraqi information minister is one the FUNNIEST things i have ever seen.
Just do like me Charlie, play with both of them :p: This one should be fun for about a weekend, then i'll move onto San Diego.Quote:

I'm in for one OEM 3500+ venice. I hope this thing oc good :). sucks newegg doesn't have 3yr warranty :(. anyone else ordered from newegg? wow, lets see what monarch will do today. i can't believe they still don't have anything yet. i'm sure they'll update their site today. be on the look out folks.
I will never forget that News shot of him saying "no americans in Bagdad" and in the back ground a Warthog flew by about 2 miles away. I feel out of bed laughing. It was about 3:00 in the morning, here.
Officer Brady says "Nothing to see here"
I wasn't in a big hurry. I preordered a 3700+ from Sparco. But the excitement is contagious, so I WILL cancel the order if ANY other retailer has it available, first.
I think it´s a mistake, they forgot to put the sse3 at the link.Quote:

Not yet but I'm expecting lower clocks will show up first...
do all 3200+ and 3000+ venice at least capable of reaching 2.8Ghz with stock volts? or are there some special batch code or special weeks?
Actually in this case he's the ATI Information Minister... ;)

I know that feeling. I'm extremely happy with my Winne, but its hard to not to sport wood when thinking about the San Diegos. :p:Quote:

is it me or does it say 1ghz fsb? Im not familiar with AMDs so, can someone explain that one to me?
Delayed until Friday in the UK dammit :stick:

i wonder how many 3500+ venice Egg has. I hope i'm not too far down the list of orders. it would suck if my order get cancelled. Don't pay attention to the description as Egg probably just copy and paste the info from a winchester or newcastle. As long as the code is correct, i'll be ok. 30 mins left before i can call Egg to change shipping option :).
There are at least 5. :DQuote:

:D I have a feeling newegg's site is going to be slow today with people looking for other Venice/SD models. I would expect 3800 and 4000 to show up soon.
It is a Venice, look at the cpu picture, it's the right core so I don't think newegg is stupid enough to mistaken a winchester as venice and screw up the description and picture at the same time :D :D they still have 5 left....they are Venice!! I'm still waiting for the San Diego from Monarch, for all I know newegg might get the San Diego in stock first before anyone else does, I think I'm going to cancel the preorder on Monarch and keep an eye on newegg in the next few days!
After ordering thousands of dollars of stuff from there I'd say they're pretty good. Even with the fedexsaver your gonna get it pretty quick if it ships from the right warehouse.Quote:

I've dealt with the Egg a ton over the past few years, and they'd definitely waive the fee in case of a screwup on their part. The reason for the fee is to dissuade people from buying a CPU, seeing how far it OCs, and then returning it if it's not to their liking.Quote:

An update on the Monarch shipments at AnadTech and Joe stated that he will upgrade the shipping on the order if you PM him.. Now that's customer service... :)

Is Monarch Joe talking about the 3500 venices only?
I just noticed that on Newegg the venice core has been removed from the drop down window where it was earlier this am. Hmm.
its still there

They claim to have the 3800 Venice in stock :)

Will the 1.36b bios for k8n neo2 pt work with san diego 3700+?
A lillte off topic, also ordered ocz 3200vx to go with it :D. I had the twinmoss tmII400 AA4T just died on me, had problem running it with divider thru bios but works well with A64 tweaker, does the VX has similiar issue?
Thanks.
You guys think the San Diego cores at Monarch will rise in price once they get them in stock?
I'm thinking about pre-ordering mine now...
I emailed Joe to see if he can hook me up with something but I doubt it since orders to PR default to USPS Priority Mail, but who knows? maybe he'll throw in a hat or something... :cheer:
woot, the 3500+ Venice is packed and sealed. Just waiting for fedex truck to come by and pick it up :). Newegg rocks.......i hope i get it by friday :).
So, now that Venice is oficially shipping out, Are we gonna have a party or something? :YIPPIE: :party3: :party2: :cheer:
It's not just the 3500. I got this from Joe when he upgraded the shipping on my OEM 3200 to overnight: "Barring any sort of catastrophe, you will be shipping out the end of this week."
-aMp-
I'm not clubbin til my 3000+ is here
Assuming it's coming from the So-Cal warehouse, mine will be under phase change by tomorrow afternoon :woot: Since i have it shipped to my wife at her Fed-Ex office, and it always comes overnight, i guess the taxes i pay make up for the overnight shipping i always get :p:
hehe, i just thought of something. there's an ingram micro 10 mins away from me. i wonder if they have the 3500+ venice in stock. Does newegg ship from the distributor directly or do they do their own shipping from their warehouse? man, if newegg ships from the ingram micro warehouse near me, i might get it tomorrow, woot. i doubt it though.

Check the contact with the evap. You should be way cooler than that. With the 3800+ Venice, my mach2 could hold load temps @ at least ~-15C. Nice little cpu you got there ;)Quote:

Any thoughts, comments.
Let me know.
eM..
3800 venice has 512kb L2 cache and the 3700 sandy has 1mb L2 cache. If I was going to spend the money I would hold out for the 3700 sandy. :) You will will probably be able to OC them both to about the same and the sandy has the 1mb cache like the FX chips. From my understanding the 1mb cache adds about 200MHz worth of performance, so if both chips were running at the same clock speed the sandy would perform as if it was running about 200MHz faster. :)
Hmmmm. Damn, I am so tempted to get the Venice cuz, its almost here. But the San Diegos are so close behind too!
I hate this waiting game.
eM..
Why don't you order from Monarch? They ship to Canada too, $18 shipping and Monarch Joe will upgrade your shipping to the fastest avail if you PM him :)Quote:

Yes waiting does suck big time. I'm probably one of the most impatient people around. But oh well as they say "Good things come to those who wait" or in Gorod's case people who gamble. :D BTW those are some sick results man, nothing like a 160 dollar chip doing 3GHz. I'm thinking I should be able to do around 2.8 with my XP-90 when I finally get my 3000+ venice. :D

--------------
Done! Standard Overnight and a Tshirt coming your way.

upgraded from fedex ground.
I think I'm going to do all my shopping at monarch from now on. :D
Yep I emailed Joe and he responded (Not kidding) in less than two minutes. However he couldn't upgrade my shipping from USPS PRiority cuz they only offer that to ship to PR.
BUT, he threw in an ATI hat and a Hornet Pro T-SHirt :cheer:
I  monarch :buddies:
Lol nice, gotta love companies tha treat the OCing community well. :D Giving out a bit of free stuff does wonders for future sales.
Got a reply from Joe at Monarch, I too get the free overnight shipping upgrade at no extra cost, that's some excellent customer service and definitely will order from again!!
Hey, TheMeatFrog dude. Got a question for ya. I was just looking at Monarch's website for the specs of the 2 CPUs. On the website, it was saying that the Venice has 2400MHz clock frequency while the San Diego has 2200MHz. From what you wrote seems like they are equal since the 1 mb L2 cache is about 200MHz more then the 512K.Quote:

eM..
btw, newegg's site IS running SLOW today, I just ordered some goodies and was getting pretty LOOOONG lags...
C
Sure they are "equal" at stock settings. But if you assume the sandy is going to OC the same or better than the venice then you will have better performance.Quote:
