Using just physical cores with HT still enabled results in higher GFLops and lower power / heat. The dual core difference doesn't seem as pronounced as the higher multicores.

@zalbard-Awesome!!! Thank you very much, I just noticed that.
I need to give info for my e8400 run, didnt notice that I hadnt before.
Gigabyte EP45-DQ6, Water, Will have to find the chip top get batch#.
Also the last entry for i7-920 4828mhz was the same chip that I used for 4725mhz, 3937B785. It is slowly degrading.:yepp:

With the insanely cold temperatures we've been having in the Atlanta area lately, I decided to give 4.5GHz with HT on another go. I set up my Classified in the garage which currently has an ambient temp of about 11.6°C. It was able to pass 20 runs of LinX at the same vcore that my previous HF-off run needed. I did bump up QPI PLL voltage so this may have had as much of an influence as the low temps.

Everyone, please make sure to read the changes in the OP carefully before submitting the results. You have to post a screenshot with CPU-Z and LinX running 20th+ pass (means it's still in progress).
Thank you.
I agree this a great idea zalbard  prove it if you can pass it 20 times , time to open my windows turn Ht off and slam this baby

Just noticed im missing a motherboard entry in the i3 list - same Gigabyte P55-UD5 for all my 1156 chips :).
Trying my 950 for more in the shed at the moment. -6c air - its freezing in here . 4881mhz just failed on loop 17 - so close it hurts!
[EDIT - Nope, failed :(. Dont think its gonna happen with the 470's in. Will have to retry at a later date with the 8400gs instead. Means splitting my loop up though so may be a little while...]
The requirements include the batch number and CPU-Z SS. Surely that means you need to have a model uncovered as well since you aren't suppose to tamper with the SS. Probably why he hasn't been added to the list.
Curious, NDA?
:edit: just noticed the quotes above from others about running the 20th+ loop in a ss
Put me on the first page thank you very much ! :) ON H2O

Nice clock Ace, but too bad TS requires the SS to be taken during the 20+ loops active running.
This will do as an exception... Small note for everyone... Screenshot with LinX running 20th+ loop... And 19 < 20, obviously. So you need to have LinX finish 20 passes and keep working and after that you take a screenshot. I thought my explanation in the OP was clear enough, guess not...

Good run. Have you tried lowering CPU PLL to 1.44-1.50? It may allow you to lower your vcore. I was able to get my LinX 20 runs 4.5Ghz vcore down to 1.385v after dropping CPU PLL to 1.44v on my R3E. I am now working on LinX 20 runs 4.5Ghz 4c8t which I can only pass 17 runs so far. Driving me nuts!
Tnx deachus.
Anything lower then 1.81 CPU PLL i crash within 10 runns, so no go there for me..
Bios 0095 did it for me, all the earlier bios i could not get BCLK 215 stable.. 0095 best bios for me so far !!
Good luck on your 4C8T run ! Try bios 0095 !
Did you try going just below 1.81 CPU PLL or all the way down to 1.44v? I only ask because 1.65v-1.8v did nothing for me but 1.44v-1.5v helped and allowed me to lower vcore. Thanks, I have been on 0095 for a few weeks now, someone sent it to me and it is the best bios I have used so far. I see R3E bios 1206 dated 12/20/10 floating around (post in the R3E thread) which I would love to try out.
Gonna try a few runns starting from 1.31 CPU PLL right now.. i remember i had uncore alot higher before and on different bios.. maybe i can pull it off :)
0095
Seen 1206 too.. cant wait
Edit: No go on the CPU PLL tried from 1.31 all the way up to 1.61... keep crasching within 10 runns
I had to change my ram timings from 6-8-6-20-1T-72 to 7-7-7-21-1T-72 and uncore from 36** to 38** then dropping CPU PLL made a difference. Think I was too tight so it needed the higher CPU PLL which the theory is CPU PLL is tied to QPI PLL which would make sense.

Can we use Intel B urn Test ?
installed today SP1 for Windows 7, it seems that it activate the AVX Support :)

before SP1 it got ~66 GFlops at 4.5GHz
Does LinX work on a dual CPU setup?
Anyone tried this with an SR-2 setup?
Why should running on SMP differ running on multi core cpu? Just increase thread count to doubled core count, no?

Yipee, finally, a result showing the AVX Linpack question asked back in November. Thank you Cri$ch.
How do the core temperatures compare from running Linpack SSE with the lower GFlops to running AVX? Does it affect stability? ie more vcore required. What's the difference in power draw from using AVX over SSE? Perhaps you could check the current draw in HWMonitor or other similar montoring program for example. Even if the reading isn't accurate it can give an idea of relative increase as a percentage. :)
Slowly updating the OP. Those people who haven't bothered reading the updated OP aren't making it in, obviously. :p:
And another example. Nice submission, but not making it. The OP clearly says use all the memory you can, either clicking max memory button or picking an option waaay down the list. Running under 2 gigs with 6 gigs installed is just lazy, sorry. Either act like you're poor, pull out the available RAM ending up with one stick and act like it's all you can afford or man up and use all the RAM you've got installed. :p:
Okay, the OP is updated. Nothing seems broken. :p:
Will mess with colour coding and wiping out people with missing info tomorrow. Really have to go now.

Nice run but you should read the rules on the first page. Also your core temp shows 215x21 4515mhz
Posted on the first page by the OP: "(Update: 14 Dec, 2010) Please make sure that LinX is running / calculating (21st or higher number loop) when you're taking your screenshot (on at least one of your screenshots). You obviously want a CPU-Z window with 4.5GHz+ frequency on the same screenshot, as well."
If you boot at 4515mhz from bios coretemp, and realtemp both read 4515mhz, same frequency as cpuz.

This may be due to running a 930 and an older version of coretemp idk, will install my 930 and test.
This was one of the reasons for my request to the OP, of showing a screen of LinX while the test was still running. Not to say your screen is not ligit. But this may help keep things honest for everyone.
oops, posted that up in haste. I was away from the system while it tested, and was honestly surprised that it passed when I returned. If I were cheating, I might go for a little more impressive numbers:D I was just surprised at the easy overclock on this new old stock mobo.
I posted this: "Not to say your screen is not ligit" I didnt say you cheated, I noticed your coretemp reading for cpu frequency didnt match what cpuz was reading, and also noticed your gflops were on par with a 4500mhz run with HT enabled, not a 4620mhz run.
Looks like you have a good chip, and passed pretty easy at 4620mhz...all you would need to do is rerun it and take a screen at 20+ loops while LinX is still running.
@mattgman, good luck and congrats on the new board, $70.00 was a real bargain.
