We really do kick a$$ every single day. We have the motivation to continue to do something worthwhile. Some have more means than others, but we are all doing it for the same reason. This is not as much of a game to us as it must be to Easy and the like. We seem to be taking the reason we are doing this serious, not just doing it for the points. You probably have other WU's with earlier deadlines. Those are always crunched first.

So true. We are slowly getting people to join, but at the same time others seem to be dropping away.

I am still so impressed every time i see our scores...the number of successful results every day is awesome!!! We are seriously reducing the time it takes to get scientific results in this world... :clap: :clap:

Does anyone here talk to them ? I've been to their site to see that they get people to participate for newsgroup feeds, I'm sure some are also highly motivated like we are, are they working to ramp up their efforts in response, or just making bigger numbers at random ?

What motivates the people at Easynews are free gigs. They get one free gig for every 15 hours of CPU time on WCG. Without the free gigs as motivation, they would be nothing. Team 2ch is going to pass them later this year.

Interesting questions. It seems as if they seem to, usually, stay just ahead of us. So, therefore it seems as if they are responding to us, or our growth. That may just be random. Though I don't know. Do they have a "crunchers forum"?

The clovers do app 50 of them per day each and if I moved to Dengue Fever it would be well over 140 each per day so can't measure by WU's..

I've been down ~10,000 per day lately. If the Ballistix in one cruncher isn't dieing the Ballistix in another one is. :( I've had so many errors it's hard to believe. I'm working on getting that problem fixed though (and buying more RAM so I'll have some spares). Hopefully I'll be back at full speed in less than a week.

Still procrastinating on getting my last quad going, the one I got way back in the Fry's special. The Tuniq T120arrived, but I've been procrastinting. If I get that going I should be able to hold 200K/day.

Also, I finally moved the last rig off the coffee table and into a case, and then followed that up with getting it all the way out of the living room, today, into a backroom and now, finally, with an always on internet connection. So now, I don't have to worry about running a connection to it every few days in order to ensure I can get the WUs uploaded and fresh ones DLed.

And the living room is a lot neater, to boot!

Q6600 #5 will be here Friday. I had to switch my rigs over to folding for about three days but the 4 quads are back for about 1-1/2- 2 days now and should be able to stay that way... :up:

i must apologize I'm down 2 rigs right now (granted they weren't fast but every bit helps) but I will have a new machine coming on line in about one week(opteron 148) I know it's not a quadcore but it should do more than the 2 i lost combined...........

Quad # 5 is now online, with stock cooling and stock speed only. I have a Zalman 9500 I could put on it but I am not sure that is any better than the stock cooler. Maybe Sunday I can swap some rigs around and put the Zalman on a dual core and water cool the Quad. Looks like I may have got another decent chip. L743A866 with a VID of 1.2250, 2 out of 5 not bad I guess...

I have 2 quads running stock on crappy intel boards, but getting my old 680i back up on Wednesday and the new 780 will be here Thursday, so I should be doing a bit more by Sunday. The other 2 are crunching at 4.4 and 4.2 and seem to be doing a decent job. I bought 2 TRUE's for the Q6600's and I'm certain they'll do a good job cooling.

For those who don't know, even though we trail Easynews in the WCG rankings, we are ahead of them in the BOINC standings. We were number one at one point, until Team 2ch decided to focus on WCG.:(
