I believe you may want the KY "self-warming" type, in an AS5 applicator :)
Well, i dont have mad photoshop skills like alot of the guys here do. Im sure someone will come up with a lot better
Once you know, you KY!
Even though I already bought my E6400 at TigerDirect last week, I figured they need to know that they fuc*ed up.
I'm actually buying most of my other components from NewEgg (heatsink, RAM, PSU, video card), and I've been buying from NewEgg for a long time now (I even have a NewEgg t-shirt!).
Here's how my chat went.
Quote:
My name is Lan. How may I assist you today?
Core2Duo: Hi
Core2Duo: I'm a long time NewEgg customer and I trust Newegg's shipping and pricing
Lan: Ok, what is the question?
Core2Duo: Well, I found today that NewEgg is selling the Core 2 Duos for $100-$150 more than other retailers and I'm wondering why that is?
Core2Duo: is there something extra or special included? Like maybe a motherboard?
Core2Duo: Yeah that must be it, it comes with a motherboard right?
Core2Duo: item #N82E16819115004
Lan: Unfortunately, we are not the ones to decide on the price. I would not know why the price is more than other stores. The price stated is how much it would be.
Core2Duo: Unfortunately I just can't justify paying $100-$150 more for the exact same product when I can buy it at another retailer
Core2Duo: So there's got be an extra special bonus included right?
Core2Duo: Like X-ray glasses or a cool ring or maybe even a toy?
Core2Duo: Can I please select my toy from an array of choices or does NewEgg select one for me?
Core2Duo: For $100, I hope it's a cool toy, like a transformer or something.
Core2Duo: that would make sense
Core2Duo: otherwise I just don't get it
Core2Duo: Unless its a mistake
Core2Duo: You may want to inform your supervisors about this
Lan: Yes, I will attention that to my supervisor.
Lan: Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
Core2Duo: Thank you, and please have an EGGcellent day
Lan: Yes.
I did live chat also to day with a newegg rep named "scott"
he told me the reason for newegg being higher than other online retailers is
newegg is smaller company and does not get the high volume discounts that bigger onliner retailers do... lol that is some major bs...
I gave him links to other online retailers and links to couple of forums..
He just left after that.. I wish I would have saved that chat to post here..
We need to do a article and put on the front page on how newegg ripps people off on hot products.. We need to stand up to their bs..
Micro Center dropped oem on E6600 from 379.99 to 359.99.
LMAO @ EGGcellent day.Quote:

ALSO!
PC Club's Conroe link Here.
They show the 6800 as "Orderable" Here, for 1300$
I bought it at this price. Plus if they lower it anymore I am going to go back into the store and get the lower price within 30 days.Quote:

Please wait while we connect you to a Newegg representative. You are number 1 in the queue.
Thank you for contacting Newegg. My name is Scott. How may I assist you today?
Haltech: hello scoot
Haltech: im kind of curious about the Core2Duo pricing? monarch, Zipzoomfly and many other etailers are selling the chip for $100-$200 less. why the price gouging?
Haltech: im surei intel would love to know about this
Haltech: scoot, are you there?
Haltech: do i get free memory or something with that price?
Haltech: scoot?
Haltech: this thing is supposed to say live chat dude
Scott: yes, thank you for bringing it to our attention. We are aware of the problem and are looking into it.
Scott: My name is not scoot, it is Scott.
While this is all funny, I'd leave the poor CS people alone. They don't set the pricing, and I'm sure they are getting tired of catching all the flak :( I'm sure newegg is well aware of thier pricing schedules, so harrassing the poor live chat people won't help too much :D

Called my local Fry's (Oxnard, CA). They had 30 6400s @ $299 in stock and 5 6300s @ $229 in stock. Put a 6400 on hold for pickup.

Yes, telling customer service you are dissatisfied with pricing is 100% VALID, and if enough people do it, it WILL filter up and they WILL realize at the very least that their customers are NOT happy.

Am I a terrible person now for finding that really funny? If you work CS you know you are going to get crap, just like a telemarketer job, etc. Do they deserve it, probably not. (telemarketers do, on the other hand)
I didn't buy a single part for my entirely new C2D rig from Newegg this time around. Last time I built from the ground-up I bet all but 1 or 2 parts were from Newegg.
Finally. :)
Gigabyte DS3
C2D E6600
Gigabyte 7600GT
Corsair 6400 2GB
Scythe Ninja+

It's FUN to pick on CSR's... PLUS they DO pass it on to their bosses.
scoot... hehehehe.
A smart CSR knows how to not take crap. People that do it frequently are going to eventually find out it gets them nowhere. If its done person to person possibly laying bloody in a parking lot.Quote:

Ok,, but the price os $389 doesn's seem to be a typo lol!! .. too bad Egg. :(
they have 6400 as 2m and 6300 as 4mb
Newegg is obviously listening to the feedback because they fixed the CACHE typo. e6400 and e6300 are both 2mb cache now.
Went ahead and made a phone order on the OEM E6600 (from Microcenter), wasn't too bad overnight shipping was only $11 but im in VA so I had to pay $18 tax, but after seeing what Newegg put up and not hearing a peep out of ZZF, I just wanted to get it over with.
Like others, don't need a warranty (that will be voided) nor a stock HSF, already got my thermalright ultra-120 with a silverstone adjustable 120mm fan.
Now, I just need to get a non-defective P5W DH, and a non-defective Thermaltake 750watt modular piece of crap hasn't been tested power supply :P
where did you order from??Quote:

No, they have fixed the cache thing on both, but the price??? oh well..Quote:

It's not much but it's funny that they responded to the pressure!!
Now if we line up around the warehouse with kerosene and rope... it should be $199 where it belongs.

I received my OEM 6700 from ClubIT right before I left for work. Ordered on Friday with overnight shipping. Just like was mentioned earlier, the chip came with a bundle of free blank DVD disks as a free gift. Still need to leak test my system tonight though, so no idea why I really did overnight shipping. =p

Time for me to go find that Donnie guy over at HardForum that wouldn't stop arguing with me about how the pricing structure for Core 2 Duo was going to be at launch and how it was going to be well over the "MSRP" at most retailers, especially Newegg. I knew when i saw how much Newegg priced the X6800 there was no hope for them to price the rest of the Core 2 Duo processors very low. Newegg is so large now that they can sell them at $100+ over other retailers just because people are dumb enough to pay.
REAL VICTORY!!!!!!!!!
e6400@ newegg @ $299
That's a $100 price drop because we :banana::banana::banana::banana:ed and moaned all day! HA!!
And they said not to :banana::banana::banana::banana: at csr's...

In all honesty Clubit has been doing very well and is one of the few e-sellers shipping C2D in volume. I won't be to harsh with them unless there are other reasons. I prefer to call it 2 strikes and your out, policy.
You think they'll give rebates to the people that bought at the higher price?:nono:Quote:

Watch ewiz.com CLOSELY... those guys POP specials at the oddest times and I wouldn't be surprised to see a e6300 sale at $199 any day now... cuz few want them. Their sales often just last like 8 hours.
now we need those motherboard prices to down too
