Hey what about Linpack? J/K
That chip looks awesome.
It needs to pass 20k, that's the most aggressive Test for Vcore.
Nice Chip anyway:up:
Thanks to pmp, he gave us, Evo mobo owners a 0504 bios that-in my case- increased my max fsb from 31mhz :p: http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/3...504cropek9.jpg

I just received my E8400.... It's Q810A198, pack date 4/16/08. Does anyone know anything about this batch? I've looked through this thread and nobody has posted any results from what I can see.
I am still waiting on the motherboard I ordered, Gigabyte P35 DS3P.
got my p5q-e today, hopefully the motherboard will allow me to clock my e8500 above the 5.1ghz limitation my dfi is giving me (board fsb limitation)
i will give updates later today when i get off work. :D
any thoughts on this mobo/cpu combo?
I recently got an Q807 E8500 from Central Computer (www.centralcomputer.com) at Santa Clara, CA. They had several Q807 E8500s left there.
I don't know about the batch number of E8400s they have.
Hi ppl, i'm new here and i have a big problem...
i have a E8400 FPO # Q812A268
ASUS P5KC
2X1 Corsair XMS2 DHX CL4 800mhz
I can oc the E8400 to 4ghz without problem...Vcore in bios 1.33 i guess...but when i increase 1mhz over my memory, my system become unstable...i cannot run orthos...at x9 400fsp = 800MHZ 1:1, the system is perfectly stable...i can run SPI on 4ghz without problem...i can run just the 3dmark CPU test...my memory is not good...or the motherboard is not compatible with the memory...i must buy a 1066mhz memory...right?...at 4ghz the memory runs at 900mhz...if i buy 2x1 OCZ reaper for exemple that runs at 1066mhz, i think i have no problmes....the cpu goes 3,7-3,8 GHZ on auto settings...i think the CPU is good...something is spooky here...SRY for my english...i'm from europe, Romania/Bucharest...thanks, cya....help me please :)...
And i have a question...how can i upload photos that have more than 200k on this page ? :)
First attempt at long stress test.

Do I make the spreadsheet? :)
1.576v!!!!
You're going to fry it!
Nah dont think he does.... people are so scared of this volt thing nowadays.. sure it wont last forever with it, but it will last a while..
the degradation people get with penryn are routin i think and dont become by to much voltage.
regards.
realisticaly how long are we actualy going to keep these cpus before upgrading? 1 year maybe 2 at a stretch. I'm sure it will last that long.
Well, let us know how it goes.
Here's a screen shot, it is missing the Aegis Panel since I just rebuild my XP64 OS and unfortunately it was not on when I went to pop all the possible programs to show the most settings. It does look crappy, due to the 200kb limit I had to lower the quality all the way to 57.5%. Once I'm done calibrating the XHD3000, I will plaster the screen with programs to show as much information as possible.
exellent speed for volts Telo !
tell me please does your aegis panel report correct cpu speed & fsb for 8 multi ?
Telo - does that say 0.896v for 4.278.3Ghz ?
Dual channel and low volts :)
