If i bump my vcore up to 1.28 nothing changes.
The system posts first screen and then restarts.

I agree something is wrong. Just not sure what. I am thinking now that maybe it's the GTL ref voltage for the NB may be set too high? (I have no idea) I notice from the settings that people have posted mine seems a bit high. Whether or not this would effect chipset temps or not i have no idea. I've currently got it set @ 115. I'm gonna turn it down when i get home to see if it helps.
Heatsink contact is good. The Extreme Spirit II base was flat and i used arctic ceramique in place of the stock TIM.
Hey guys, my mb and hsf finally showed up. Below are some notes on the Thermalright Ultima 90 for future reference.
- clearance from heatpipe over to stock NB heatsink is about 1/8" - 3/16" (more clearance than TRUE which seems to butt up against it)
- bottom fins/fan overhangs NB heatsink by roughly 1/4"
- it also extends beyond the top of the mb by about the same amount
- clearance from bottom of fins/fan to top of NB heatsink is 10mm (this was before tightening it down on a cpu - I could slide a 10mm fan in the gap - just barely)
- be sure to install your cpu before installing the front HSF mount bracket, otherwise the bracket blocks the cpu lever :)
...I don't have a digital camera handy, so no pics - sorry.
Another observation... the backplate has 4 studs held on with rubber o-rings. These studs then poke up through the holes in the mb (essentially having the metal stud against the back of the mb). On the topside, you attach two metal brackets, with 4 metal screws, again leaving the metal brackets against the PCB.
Anyway, this mb doesn't have the little washers embeded in the holes like some (most?) do, so I wasn't comfortable with that arrangement. I noticed that there were 4 more (a bit larger) o-rings in the box (for the AMD installation), so I used those between the top brackets and the mb. I'm just curious if anyone else did this?
EDIT: BTW, I just slid that fan in there for measuring purposes... I don't think there's room to actually mount a fan between the NB heatsink and the HSF and still get the HSF down tight.
Sorry to butt in but what's the difference between the LP and the UT versions of the P35 Lanparty?
Just the heatpipe between the NB/SB/PWM and the Transpiper.
In other words, the UT costs more for the additional cooling. Otherwise, they are the same board/BIOS.
BTW, that's the "LT" and the UT ("LP" just stands for LanParty... the "DK" is the "Dark" board.. it is a step down in cost and has many more differences from these.. the Blood Iron is a step down from the Dark and is the entry-level board).
Hey Nikolas, what are you using to stress test for your 24/7? My settings are about identical but I'm on 333/667 and my vtt can be a little higher. At 4.0ghz I use 70 69 70, and 60 59 60 works great over 4.3ghz for me
I was able to get SuperPI 1m 10.891s @ 4.27ghz 9x475 with 1.39vcore and I'm hoping to beat that today. As long as my wife goes out lol.
I ditched the copper plate and dropped some small sinks on the CPL- 4 - 50s and
PWM Temps dropped 4c. Lots of airflow in the case hits these and it seems to help.

Hey guys, first of all, sorry for the long post!
Just got this board yesterday and had nothing but problems from the get-go. Had to use my brothers E6420 to flash the BIOS for my E8400, well first boot with my new GSkill HZs, I got C1,25,26,power down,3sec,power on,stuck on C1. :(
So then I used 1 stick of PNY PC-5300 1.8v and my brothers GSkill HKs, and after clearing the CMOS a couple times and using different DIMMs finally got past the reboot to C1, only to have it hang on "Verifying DMI Pool Data" before loading the HDD, along with the graphic corruption on the screen.
After dozens of CMOS clears, switching DIMMs, SATA ports, I was able to get past "Verifying DMI Pool Data" only to have it BSOD loading windows, reboot to stuck on C1. Using that combo of CMOS clear\DIMM\SATA port I was eventually able to boot from USB to flash BIOS for my E8400.
So today, with my E8400 + GSkill HZs, after a CMOS clear was able to F1 through to boot windows only to have it BSOD, and reboot to stuck on C1 again. Going through the BIOS options, the DRAM and CPU voltage were under stock and knocking them up to stock would most likely alleviate the BSODs, but unfortunetly CHANGING ANY BIOS OPTIONS causes the board to hang on on "Verifying DMI Pool Data". :down:
After reading about other people having these issues and it turned out to be bad ram, I tested all 3 sets in my brothers 680i board and all are 100% working.
Anyway, Im gonna RMA through newegg, but if you guys have any last minute suggestion or tips to avoid these issues with the new board(if it was user error and not a faulty board) let me know! :)

Hey Ghost, have you tried a battery pull clear CMOS? I had a marathon of issues gettin the board to work, but a combination of clearing cmos and EZ-Clears and changing hardware/battery pulls eventually got me sorted.
I saw my first incident of weirdness last night (aside from my abnormally high NB temps). I tried installing the latest version of Everest. Upon completion of the install the USB keyboard and mouse stopped responding on the 'Finish' box after install. Not sure what the deal with that is. Gonna back off the O/C and try again.
couldn't wait for an E8500 processor any longer.
picked up an BX80570E8400 Q746A489 at Mpls MicroCenter for $189.95 and used the $25 Gift card I had as well.
About 1/2 what the E8500 would have cost me and I really didn't have the extra $150 anyway :)
The LT LP is used and I believe it has the 9/13 bios on it (and I have a spare bios chip also 9/13)
Doubt if I'll get a chance to do my 1st Intel build until Saturday.
I hoping it at least boots so I can flash the 0109 Bios.

I too bought my E8400 at the Mpls Microcenter and am having great results, however I've had quite a few issues with this board and my wolfdale. I had multiple boot problems and was really random. Sometimes it would post and other times it wouldn't. I'm pretty sure it was a problem with 12/24 bios and wolfdale. I just flashed to 1/09 and it booted up right away, I'll test more later tonight and check for stability but at least it boots.
