I would say CABYE 0540FPBW. If its too much over retail.. I would try from newegg. I just ordered a 150 from them. Hope they have some old stock!

my current philosophy on the IHS.. is 100mhz (max) worth the posibility of killing your cpu? is it really? will you be going for a WR with this cpu? No?? then why the 100mhz..
And in my experience I gained 0mhz from popping the IHS and in one case ended up with a cpu that was doa after ihs removal. the other one that gained no mhz died within a few months after ish removal..
so is it really worth it.. no...
thats why my 146 taht does 2.9ghz will be staying with its IHS firmly planted on the core for as long as it shall live.
fooling around with different ram and bios I've settled on this for the moment. Info in sig

Next Week this baby goes to negative temps :D , well my last bench as at 2850 @ 1.39v running PI32MB and i think that run too at 1.37v with the same settings.

With phase change i hope to reach for pic 3600/3700 and using for day 3200/3300.
Guys.......
New Opty 144 stepping - CABNE 0544 EPMW
Anyone have any results for this stepping?
It's a CABNE but the week and letters are relatively unknown.
Down to only my 144 for the moment so I thought I'd do a few 3d benches with it.

Down on 2647 now :D
A small look at my new 148 0540fpbw and epox NF3 mobo. cooled by water with a Maze3 block and no IHS.

Heres my new CABYE 146 0543FPMW
I can actually bench OK with only 1.42Vcore but with such high Vdimm I was worried about frying my chip so upped the Vcore a little

:woot: :D :woot: :D :woot: :D :woot: :D
I'll see how high it will go later, its also Prime95 stable @ 3GHz though only tested for two hours :)
Very nice! Is it also a CABYE?Quote:

Same *2920MHz. I hate people who use CPUz as a guide.Quote:

Those letters are nothing but dates and wafer sequence numbers - comparable only within the same date. They have no relevance when comparing procs with different dates.Quote:

See last page.
Yes you have right nothig is comparable. Only same Productionweek and SN.
And even then is a lucky thing to get an good CPU.
HS is very important for clocking. Best CPUs have almost bad HS´s.
But EPMW where in the Past FX Steppings and APMW and GPMW and MPMW etc.
You mean you hate THAT people use CPUz as a guide, right?Quote:
