Official DFI LanParty UT X38-T2R(and LT) Discussion/Review/Overclock/Guide Thread

i had 2.2X on the ram i dont want to overvolt becouse i follow the rules for rmas and i dont like the idea of hunting down new gmh (but i know that i can get cell shock), and the NB i was at 1.63, cpu at 1.58V vtt at 1.61V and all gtls at 68% i cant recall the numbers off hand something like 109/107/111

i also had the phases at eaeee-eaaee trfc 35 in bios 30 set in windows (i was testing the difference) and pl8 mch delay8 most channel timings on normal, and i think that im out sub timing u with the cross communications but i have problems getting the read/write up through anything but ram hrz


im thinking that i need more/liquid cooling or to wait until the winter its 3am and its still 21-22C, im also thinking of getting a 50W tec for the NB if i go liquid for benching


i wish that i had an 8600ES and or that my e6850 could do .5 multies

i got 3 sets of team if u need just ask

so are u offering ram to be slaughtered with 2.6V or something:D ive wanted some 1200 cas4 runs


do u have any ideas on setting a vco clock divider or anything random

hahaha just like zanz to get some kamikaze ram secondhand :P.

I sent zanz his p180 and his e6850 and a whole bunch of other parts for free :rofl: itsall good tho he puts them to better use then anyone else would :up:

only my micron fatties have seen 2.6v:p:
i think the max i went on most was 2.24
i did test 2.4 for 5 min 1200 cas 4 :rofl:
i got a set of team pc2-8000 that i only ran memtest on to make sure they were 100% as i received them didnt put heatsreaders on yet you want em they are yours at my cost verry cheap 50$
please no one pm me for them other than zanzabar

no problem i became kind of a collector of d9 and having 13 sets of it is gettin ridiculous anyways :rofl:
most of my babies just sit in the box:rofl: i was expectin my sets to last 6 months but they dont die on this board 9 months is just incredible to me
when i had gigabut boards they never survived longer than 5 weeks :rofl:
i rmaed my mushkin 5 times :rofl: runnin @ 2.24 on gigabut

Not to nit-pick but your screen shots show memory bench results on different Everest versions - X38 on v4.20 and P35 on v4.50. Is there anyone that knows Everest well enough to confirm it's a fair comparison? Or even better, will you be able to re-do the test on both based on the same Everest version?

margin for error is verry slim
in every way the ut p35 is faster than any x38-48
the dfi x38-48 just clocks 4 sticks better n has cossfire
i'm sure 1 day it will outperform it but i think its gonna be a long wait till the bios engineers figure it out

HI all, I've had my X38-T2R for about a week now and I've had a very weird experience with it. First off I had trouble even getting the board to boot up at all, turns out the C1 error was at work and the only way to get the board to boot was to reset the bios then kill the main power from the psu. After that though I realized I was having the same problem as Dimek, no boot over 1.24v with this new E8400, which wasn't really a big deal since it will hit 4ghz @ 1.96v. At certain times I could get the board to boot with hihger volts by using the CPU special add thing but any tweaking of the main voltage got me an instant shutdown after rebooting. On top of that the board would make this wierd buzzing sound, like an alarmclock, sometimes upon rebooting but it did not fail to boot after making this sound.

I'm now using the original 11/28 bios and it's the most stable and reliable bios I've tried so far. No C1 errors, no voltage issues, no wierd noises, no trouble clocking my ram above 1100mhz, all in all I've not had one issue since I switched to this bios. I've tried all of the official bios and the top four betas. I don't know what they changed after this one but I tink they should start over using the first as a template.

yes i cant get stable with it
you should try the 603 i like it but i prefer the 602 from the ut

You mean the beta's from here?

Looks like the LT X38 & X48 boards are sharing the same (beta) BIOS now. They are obviously short-handed.

you should try either 602 603 or 111

You would have to like initial bios as it is the only one to work with Vcore >1,25Vcore for my E8400
Actually 11/28 works perfect stable for me (sig), so no reason to complain...

well the 965 was better than the 975


i went x38 to get a raid card and 4x sound card but look i cant afford a raid card and there are no good 4x sound cards, i am getting liquid this week though

I know I asked the same question in the p35 thread, but I have both boards and like to know before I plop down the bux on a 8600.

but gonna test her out on my ut p35 first then on the x38

I plan on getting one, maybe, along with a 4870x2 when it comes available. "Interest free for 6 months" is a wonderful thing..

i just ordered my LQ i have a swiftec 2fan rad, and im getting a 355pump with a g3/8th petras style top, dtek v2, mcw30 and some primo chil pro tubing and all bits power fittings

and im going to tj-07 out my p180, im hoping for 502x9 for benching even if i have to make it dice assisted with non freezing liquid
