Mine came with 0614 and updated to 0804. I read 1004 can be twitchy for some people. As far as I know there are no issues with 0804.

yeah maybe its like the method for flashing p4p800-e/p4c800 etc where if you wanted to flash with an incorrect ROMID you had to use an older version of afudos such as v1.16b and the following command (as newer versions of afudos cant do so):Quote:

maybe thats what happens with the latest BIOS, it changes the ROM ID and thats why you cant roll back in the usual manner. I cant think of any other reason why you couldnt roll back.
anyone think to ask Asus why they did that?..."not being able to rollback!"
Yeap, i dont know why but the bios 9.. must be the very same thing.
The 1004 was released 1 day after the previous one, so, i think the only difference is the FSB 1333.
So if you dont need a FSB 1333 just stay on 9.
Indeed. I've updated to 1004 and the pci-e 1x issue didn't want to disappear by any means when oc'ed. I've tried every known workaround to this but i couldn't "solve" it. That's why i've decided to roll back to 910.Quote:

To me 804 and 910 are the best till now and in the future P5B bios (since they will include 1004 fixes) i'll wait for user info first.
I've never had the 1X issue. I do set most of my voltages manually, but I have never once seen anything but 16x in cpuz etc.
Are u using 1.65v vmch?
I'm using 0614, the last BIOS before the double reboot @ every boot issue was corrected. This solves my X1K issues because it double reboots each time.
^ huh, i have the double reboot on every 'cold boot'(had it with 0804, 0910 and 1004) but i only had the 1X once(on 0804 bios) before..
0614 it every time you post. Restarting windows, turning on the PC, etc.
I have tried all the recent BIOS's I could get my hands on and I still get the double boot from a cold boot. I also get it when saving downclocking of anything (sometimes it does it 2/3 times after that)
Could be it. Never had x1 no matter what volts i set BUT 0614 is the only bios i use.
Good advice finally fixed the 1x issue
-fsb termin 1.4
-vmch 1.45
-diable asus cgi, force 1x
-peg link mode to slow
-pci 96
I just bought my new PC yesterday, a P5b Deluxe wifi e6300 allendale 2 x 1gb twinmos ddr2 800, i have no idea what happened, i was trying to reach 3ghz with 1.30vcore a 1.40vFSB, it was working pretty well, it booted to windows, obviously i had to test it with ORTHOS and i did, but after 15 mins of tests the PC shuts down, i guessed, failed OC attemp, happens.
I turn the PC again but wtf, it shuts down and repeat the process all the time, no POST, no image, doing a Clear CMOS didn't work, i have no idea what could have caused this, i have a Tagan 420Watts PSU which seemed to be quite enough for this PC.
Removed VGA, Ram, plugged the the fan connector into the mobo connector, still shuts down, turns on, shut down ...
I really appreciate your help since this is driving me crazy.
Sucks to write this on first post but yea...
PC-1: ASUS P5B-Deluxe WiFi-AP Edition <> Intel: C2D E6300 1.86Ghz @ 2.6Ghz 1.23V <> TwinMOS: 2x1Gb DDR2-800 <> Zalman: 9500LED w/AS5 <> PowerColor: X1950 Pro 512Mb AcceleroX2 <> WD: 2xWD2500KS + 1x Raptor 74Gb <> Tagan I-Xeye 420W <> Samsung: 997MB <> Creative: X-Fi X-Gamer <> NEC: 3500AG
Take out your PCI cards and PCI-E cards and fire it up. It'll beep a few times. Shut it back down and re-insert.. :)
I did take out the X1950 Pro but not the X-Fi, will try, hoping for the best.Quote:

Dont know if you have had any troubles with 2 dimms first time you booted but you could try only one and see if you can get into bios to set vdimm yourself. Its rather low after cmos clear.
The Twinmos twister ddr-800 works at 1.80v, i guess thats the default value but still without a single dimm inserted it keeps turning on and off, i am lost, no idea what to do, even clear CMOS didnt work.Quote:

1.8v should do yes. How long/often youve tried jumper/battery cmos clear? Some times a longer period or a few tries helps :D
Jumper CMOS clear tried 4-5 times, didnt work, battery i think i took it out for 30 mins but still didnt work, any idea ?.Quote:

Try with only one dimm further away from the cpu,it happened to me several times and usually works, if not try to borrow a oem dimm.
As i explained, it does the constant shuts down even with no memory installed, removed vga, sound card, ram, hd, dvd unit, still doesnt work.Quote:

Thanks, Leopr.
at default volatge or clear cmos I can only post with one dimm in the rurthest slot till I re set Vdimm up. I'm getting really tired of this and wish they would catch on and up the default votage when more than one stick is populated.
anyone ever experience the bios all of a sudden start to ask for password?
i never set one, and now i can't get in bios. i know i can reset cmos, but c'mon that is some crazy bug. it was working fine one minute, then i pushed the fsb higher, it won't POST, then i power cycle from the back and now its asking me for pw? wth?
