not a very good shot by any means but with a 1yr old destroying a cake on his 1yr birthday, its hard to get a clean shot.

and here is a really crappy video shot at 720p 60p and then done up in pinnacle studio HD and resized.
pinnacle studio hd has alot you can do with it, far more than i have had a chance to play with yet.

Hootie flew away before i could get close enough for a good shot :( ..i was around 60+yards from him. This is 100% crop(so not so clear)..any smaller and he blends in with the trees too much. :)

sorry for the rather crappy environment, i was just testing some custom styles.
this is my own version of Kevin wangs 'Zero' Canon custom style.
i was just testing for color/lack of color, contrast, blown out whites, darks etc.
i like the way it came out, now i just need to find a nice subject to use it on.
this style is very interesting... light of any kind (direct or indirect) has a very drastic effect on it and can make some extremely interesting pictures.
Reds are very pronounced (as you can see)
pinks and yellows are subdued
blues - not sure, need to test
Purples are,,, odd... not sure how to describe them. they can be almost neon, and then they can be subdued depending on how much light hits them.
everything has a very subdued effect.
high ISO makes the picture better as it adds graininess to it.
here is another example - bananas - see what it does to the color?
the counter is a tannish brown. the towel to the left is a creamy tannish color
overall everything feels like the saturation is very negative,,, except certain colors.

what scanner did you get Marin, looks like it's doing a pretty good job of it.
i figured i would show you all what i was talking about above about how trastically the Zero custom style changes an image.
and again this is straight out of the camera, not even RAW, just jpeg. and then resized with PS.
Here is the 'original' using the Kodachrome custom style (i really enjoy using this style)

And here is the same shot using my ZeroV4 (Mr. Wang's is ZeroV3)
http://stinky.no-ip.biz/photo/conver...6f56342e6a7067
if i had shot in raw, i could load it into the canon utility and just pick all the styles i want and change them on the fly.
first post in this thread,,hopefully not my last

Great pics everyone!
I guess some wouldn't really consider this photography...i do. :p:
It a sheet of large bubble-wrap, with my black-light behind it. I rather like it.
They're big bubbles(~28mm in dia./10mm thick), and the sheet(12"x12") has a pink tinge to it. Trying out my new EF50mm f/1.4 USM. This kinda shot almost hides the hellacious CA that this lens gives @f/1.4 in daylight. I'm quite happy with the lens though.
