Well I guess mine just plain sucked then. 1100 at 2,08V any more voltage and they would crap out lol. Less and it wouldn't work. But I can run 1100 CL5 with like 2,05V and 4x1 D9GMH with sooo much headroom, so I prefer them.
ive got two sets of the reapers, those in my last post are the newer set e.g week & a half old. the new set use a black pcb & the older one's have the green pcb's.
i assumed the newer kit would still be D9's like the green pcb chips, thanks for the heads up on that though
Anyone else having a horrible time clocking wolfdale FSB on this board? Mine hard walls at 533 even with dice, different chips, and every setting change imaginable.
No, the 1100 at 2,08V were powerchips.
My D9GMH run 1100 at 2,05V in 4x1GB config. 2Gigs Crucual Value 533 (:D) and 2gigs Cellshock 800C4. They can go higher of course, but for 24/7 crunching I don't want to strain them too much.
Yeah but you're not runnin 50$ sticks :D
Any news about new bios ?
We got to find a way to wake them up.
Seriously, I suspect that a bad C1 Error had tripped the vCORE up by accident and damaged my Q6600. I only found it a reboot cycle later. Dang flawed BIOS. Now I have to raise the voltage by a notch to stabilize the CPU. Not cool!
As I can see it, we have to find them first... then try to wake'em up...
Seriously, it's ridiculous - this kind of mobo is having 6 bioses (wow :ROTF:) and there is only one operational version for me (initial release)..... or maybe it's just me who should be awaken ;)
I read about the "450 fsb wall" on X38 based motherboard in general but my year old Q6600 runs perfectly fine ( OCCT overnight, P95 24 hrs+ stable ) on this board @ 3.7 ( 8 x 463 ).
I'm getting a Q9450 soon and I'll be one darn happy camper if the Penryn chip can reach 3.7 as well. Anybody has experience with a 45nm chip on this board ?
TIA
this is 4 the 4 stix lovers:D can go higher but i just hate low fsb:p:
first pic is 2 stix second pic is 4 stix
this is my new 24/7 4 stix @ 2.05v
Thanks Praz & Sam - I've always thought all the Penryns excel in the FSB dept. Looks like the quads are excluded for the moment. Hopefully the upcoming E0 stepping will fix it.
Just got a DFI LP LT X38-T2R board just the other night got it installed and up and running. Getting my 2x 4850's today.
System specs in sig, mobo and video not updated. I know its in here somewhere but is there any good posts dealing with tuning up a E8400 with 4x sticks of G.Skill PC-6400 ram? Ideally getting my CPU back to 4Ghz is ideal, even more so for benching will rock :)
Also one thing I noticed with this over my ABIT IP35-Pro that I have. At least with the V-Droop setting enabled, when I reads 1.175V bios its actually ~1.2V. Man before I had to pump 1.37V in the bios to get 1.225V to get my chip stable at 4Ghz, with this seems like I should be able to hit 4Ghz on default VID. Is it recommend to run V-Droop on or off?
