Yonah who? Conroe baby!
way to go cant wait for it to come out
Great results!!!
Just one thing. What is the max freq you can run Conroe passive on air? Because Conroe is so strong clock for clock my next rig should be a silent one.
Reminds me about Kurt Kobain's phrase... "I want to kill myself and I want to die". Come on, I can't believe that three months ago I spent my money in a system (X2 + A8N-E Deluxe + OCZ Gold XTC ddr500) that in a couple of weeks will become obsolete.
what obsolete, its nice for 3D mark, but irl for games it will not matter unless you have SLI or CF
look at 3 ghz intel P4 being equal in Oblivion at FX-60
on normal resolutions, not 800*600 or something stupid like that
FALSO....... There are plenty of games that use CPU power.... MSFS is one of them change the GPU and not FPS increase. Change the CPU and all kinds of changes. Same happened with HL2, Far Cry, and others. Thats my personal experience. I have not played Oblivion yet...

I thought e6400 was only 2mb cache :/
wow, that overclock really is something. Stock Vcore on air as well.
@Lawry: Yes it is, but I believe this is an ES chip which has 4mb?
I also find that a tad depressing that these core 2 duo's will eventually land up in midrange dell pc's and they'd be pulling better Pi's than the more expensive A64 chips.
Very impressed. Good work

I think only ES have 4MB L2 @ 2.16GhzQuote:

Thanks Coolaler for this great benchmarks. You are rally pretty consistent. GREAT THREAD!:woot: :woot:
I remember seeing in two places that the temps are around 60+ deg. Celsius.
But I don't remember any one confirming this data, is it really that HOT on stock vcore. :stick:
I know this is my first couple of posts on this forum but this is pretty interesting and I believe a lot of people would like to know if this is just a mbo faulty readout or true fact:confused:

If ONLY ES 6400 have 4MB and stock 2MB L2 - this tests are useless :D isn't it ?Quote:

What kind of loaded temps were you seeing? Also is it indeed passively cooled? Thanks
Just to reiterate... that is NOT a passive cooler, there's a 120mm fan sandwiched inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quote:

It's a Tuniq-Tower 120.
Not if you're planning on getting an E6600:)Quote:

Wow, I just caught up to date on this thread... 3.2ghz on normal air cooling  ! Holy ****ing ****!!!! Taking the IPC into account, it would be over 66% faster than my X2 3800+ @ 2.5ghz/core  ! I thought my rig was blazing, Intel's really laid down a WHOPPER! Thanks a lot Coolaler for your efforts to show us all this!

I didn't even know you could put a 120 inside the Tuniq tower, shows how behind i am on aircooling :p:
Coolaler you should send us work to do so we can do your job and everything, you gotta keep at that overclocking all day LOL
well.. he didnt post something a day or so :p: , so i think he is going to mount something on the cpu :D
here's a pic of the Tuniq showing the fan...
pretty nice cooler.
looks great cause you can direct the flow of air toward your exhaust fans, unfortunately you trade that for no flow on your pwm area
anyone here think coolaler is playin with some pins or soldering gun for voltage, hence the hiatus on results?
