My problem is the memory speed won´t go any higher.
As you can se I have to set the Vmem and Vvpu very high to get 700 on the mem.
But no problem with the vpu at all.

1/ on GPU 1.275V, dont know others voltages yetQuote:

Oh missed the Zalman on the last post.Quote:

My first post :)

core 1.3v mem 2.0v on zalman VF-700cu
the temp really screw up. i use my hand to feel the heatsink of zalman still touchable :)
Welcome!
If it's still touchable and the temps are that high with that cooler you probably have bad contact.
EDIT: just looked at your clocks and your scores. What's your CPU? If it's clocked high something's amiss. And while it'd be tough to run a run at those clocks with bad contact, I still feel you might have SLIGHTLY poorer contact than you should.
hmmmm... thanks! i try to resit the hsf and bench again thanks! :)
Maybe hes using the drivers from the cd. The new drivers fix the temperature reporting issue. It lowers temp readings 20c. Need to make sure your running cat 5.10a.
And Welcome to XS! :welcome:
yes yes i'm using the drivers from the cd. So the drivers from the cd is not updated? Btw sorry i nv state my card was from sapphire. But looking at the card carefully, i found out its a reference card. Sapphire only paste their alien sticker onto the hsf lol.
Thanks for the help guys! Downloading cat 5.10a now :D
Guys, i've got a question about adjusting mem voltages.
Do guys adjust both of the mem volt sliders? ie mem core volt and mem I/O volts?
And have u seen a improvement in adjusting the I/Ov?
BTW Welcome tckrto :toast:
Nice results tckrto. Definatly try a whole bunch of benches, and also did you try doing a cold boot to those speeds? There was a few of us that had problems running high v and higher core unless the card was warmed up (meaning running a few benches previously to OCing to the speed you got). Impressive though I'm still playing with mine currently :)
I've gotten mixed results using both. Sometimes its good and others its not. My results seem to diminish with higher clocks of adding voltage to both of them. Vcore seems to stabilize the voltage with the memory more so then Vmem, but then again bumping up the voltage slightly on both seem to stabilize the clock you can achieve sometimes.Quote:

OC'ing these cards is like an art, but very rewarding once u get the sweet spot.Quote:

3 3DMark 03 Runs
80min shutdown period and then restarted to test and make sure 05 and 03 passed, which it did succefully. Then ran FEAR at 1920x1200 for 2 hours just doing some benches and let it sit on the menu since it taxed the GPU and I could go and sit on the couch for a few hours :)
Estimated temps for benchmarking 44C load, estimated game menu testing after 2 hours 48C load. I reseated my heatsink and that proved to be very helpful dropping temps 5C+.
Edit: thats a 5C+ drop at current settings/speed. Im sure its more so if I go back to the 585/750 clock that i know worked with 1.15/2.0/2.0 and where I remembed it was running near 54C in benchmarks and 56-58C ingames according to the heatsink thermal sensor and estimated temps I got.
Thanx for the input. Now i think im going to get myself the Zalman VF700.Quote:

fatality is the same thing with a faster/louder fan.
Suppositly it has some special paint on it to disapate heat better. IMO I don't buy that. It does have a faster stock fan which I can't hear over the rest of the system, its red, and has a red light on the fan (don't know if the other one does or not). I just got this one because someone else did and I really liked the look of it, and at the time I already spend a decent amount of money so what was a few bucks difference anyways?Quote:

errr i don't have water cool or phase change :(Quote:

No what i ment for cold boot was shutting the computer off for a couple hours then resetting the voltages/clocks and benching right away after the shutdown.Quote:

My whole case is lit up with blue leds, so i was wondering how the red led of the Zalman Fatality will look? Will it clash or will have a nice contrast?
I received one of my x1800xl's today. Its a saphire oem from zzf. is this thing suppose to have Ruby on the heatsink/fan? Because mine does. It looks identical to a built by ATI card. It doesn't say Saphire anywhere on the card. I wonder if they messed up and sent me a built by ati instead.
so, did anyone overclock the sapphire cards decently yet? I want to get one but I want to achieve at least 600/700.
Seems to me that those OC better than the ones with the Alien on. ;)Quote:
