There it is! BH-5 is back again!

I,ve got Geil Ultra X PC-3200 with new BH-5 dies but i can't switch to other CAS except 2.0(no boot) and not running over 230Mhz at 3.0v(max on my Asus A8N-SLI)

enzor sry.I got the wrong stuff.It aint bh5,or even close>i saw the review at newegg and regonnised the name from here.I sais :banana::banana::banana::banana: fer dat money i go ferid.U got bh5.The speeeed premium is for :banana::banana::banana::banana:.sry but it is.I got confused reading nonames last post on neweggg.Others peoples post confimed that that the speed preeeeeeemium cough was good-----dont buy-----.as fer u guys bought this stuff and get 250 fsb or better we have a running bet that it wont do that,and ill prove it

I think that part of the reason that people are running over 3.2v now is the A64 memory controller.

On socket A anything over 3.2v didnt give you much of a gain (it never did for me)
The CPU itself just wouldnt run more than 250mhz no matter what timings or voltage I gave it.

With A64 the CPU is capable of allot more, so you get better scaling at higher VDIMM. My old Bh5 carrys on going faster well past 3.2v. Although I wont run all more than that for any length of time as I dont want to kill anything for a few FSB. But its handy for benchmarking where I can crank it up to 3.5v and get a nice FSB boost.

From what ive seen on forums so far, I dont think this new stuff is any better than old Bh5, but I dont think its allot worse either.

Thats pretty normal for BH5 ram.. Some of the original BH5 sticks were the same way..

They arent meant to be loosened.. they want to stay tight and want alot of voltage !!

Do you guys remember the firsts days of A64? A lot of people was killing his CPU's due to high Vdimm...
And look it now, everybody using 3'5V and more...

I just guess what would happend if the venice core (for example) die at high vdimm's... :D :D :D

i have a pair of bh-5 ddr433 2x512mb at home. havent open the package yet do.
ive got a pair of 2x512mb DDR500 corsair with hynix chip in my comp now
and they work good in 2.6v
my crappy clawhammer dont go over 236fsb anyway.
so im thinking of sending back the bh-5 but they were real cheap 120$ for 1024mb

gonna test oc the comp to 250x9. and see how it works.
still i dont know why i bought the bh-5
maybe just to bring old memorys back from the socket a time ;)

That TwinMOS SP is good stuff! :up: I own several pairs.

yes i know the mem is good ;)
but the problem is that it will do no good in my current rig ;(

but i think i keep them :)
and run 2-2-2-11 timings 200x10
i run the corsair @ 2.5-3-3-11 @ 200x10
cant have lower timings

and i can max do 236x10 3-4-4-11 with this crappy clawhammer

im gonna do a test and try 250x8
or else the claw go and enter does a newcastle 3400

only hopes that my mobo will have good voltage settings
and not max 2.8v or smth :(

the newcastle 3400+ is a 12 multipler that is good. higher the better :)

i paid around 300€ for my corsair 1year ago

Not every motherboard has the option to give enough vdimm for the bh5 to do ddr500, most people dont even know that adding more voltage will actually increase performance.

and buy a newcastle.

the corsair still cost around 240€ for 1024mb.
thinking of selling both cpu and mem for around 260€

my rig now with 3200+claw and corsair do max 2360mhz

I'm a little confused too. Trying to figure out which stuff is what and what is better. I'm thinking about buying a new rig in the next month or two. Gonna try out a Venice with the DFI nF4 board. But there are WAY too many memory choices.

I was thinking about getting some TwinMos SP. But I'm really not sure which chips they use now. There website says CH-5 (eh) for the DDR400. But I also heard that some use UTT :slobber:. So I was thinking about putting that on my wishlist. But now I here that the BH-5 is back and that's in the DDR433 sticks. So now I'm really not sure which stuff to get. Not to mention the fact that the market changes so fast in a month.

So a little help guys? :) Thanks.
