I think 1.5v could be used.
I have set all of my and DD's chips up for 1.6v(which really is 1.51v to 1.56v depending on the individual PC-DL used). And I think all of them are using the stock Intel Wind Tunnel coolers except one... which is blessed with a set of water blocks.
BUT, I would try 1.5v first to see if that's all you need for your 3.2GHz. If you have a great set of chips... you may be able to do it with that and your heat output would be a bit less.
Have you went to Cooler Master's site and looked for a "where to purchase" kind of thing? Or perhaps email them and ask them.Quote:

Hey Guys
Could Someone Post a clear shot of where to messure Vdimm, also iv used the bridging trick on a 1.5v 2.4Ghz Xeon, i obviously didnt read your original thread well enough:(, anyway it bios it recons the voltage is 1.55 Volts which is exacly what it should be accoding to you ( 1.6v and 1.55v on pcdl) is the bios accurate or am i really pumping loads through?
My overclockign results have so far been very positive, can boot at up to 3.6 but i thin k 3.4-3.5 Stable is looking likely.
Atm im running 1Gb of BH5 but have no idea of what the voltage is but doesnt seem to like 215+ when i know it can handle up to 270 with 3.6v.
I was hoping for around 230 ish
I'll post a picture for you after I get home from work tonight if no one else has yet.
Thanks, iv actually already found it.
I must be blind.
These Xeons I have seem to be really good, seems stable at 3.5 Ghz on watercooling @1.55Vs with 2 x swiftech 6002 Waterblocks PCDL is reading temps as 37 and 39 for CPU's 1 and 2.
Spec Number:SL6VL

Anyone else got results from these xeons?
Those aren't LV Xeons... From what I know of the LV Xeons they OC higher...Quote:

Yeah i realise theyt arent LV, but with a 0.5 increase in volts they seem to be amazing clockers, im very tempted to get another 2 but they are very expensive in the UK, £200 they are selling for ( a pair) thats like 373 USD, whcih frankly sucks.
Infact i lie it doesnt, its fairly cheap for what your getting imho but you guys in the US get them cheaper so i want them cheaper:)
373USD is a lot to pay for a pair of Xeons... LV or not!Quote:

3.5GHz is great for D1 chips... LV or not. ;)
May indeed help, i belive there is a volt mod that allows 1.7 but i feel thats a bit of a big jump from 1.5-1.7 so wouldnt be all that keen on trying that one.
but $373 really isnt that much for Xeons in the UK, 603 ping Xeons go very cheap, if i could find a supply of cheap mobo's id try them out as they go for 30-40 quid a pop on e-bay.
I would have liked to got in on one of the 1.6Ghz bulk buys but missed out
I have a spare PC-DL sitting here ready for 2 more Xeons So im goign to try and find these 1.5V xeons in the US, but i want to confirm That these are good clockers first. I know One guy made a bit of a mistake with a divider and thought he was running them at 4.1 Ghz when infact it was more like 3Ghz, i dont think thats happening to me as CPUZ and clockgen agree with the clock speed. I also am pretty sure im not running a divider;P

I am new to ddol and xtreme. I have set up two nodes that run 24/7. I figured my machines might as well do something good with the spare cycles :) I have an asus pch-dr mobo and ordered 2 2.0 lv xeons for it and 2 x 512 ecc 2100. Do these 1.6 lv mods work on the 2.0 lv ones as well? Another question. Are 603 chips interchangable with the 604s? what is the difference? I am new to xeons
If its a 1.3 Volt Xeon which if its a LV xeon and 604 pin, the mods should work for it.
603 chips are not interchangable with 604 in the sense you cant run them togeather at least i belive you cant.
But i belive 603 can run in 604 ping motherboards but im sure someone else can give you a more definate anserw
Well my rig is finally up and running 4 instance of D2OL.
It did the 1.6V mod = 1.52V in MBM5
Tried 16X200, but got rounding errors in P95 in a few second :(
So right now running them at 15X200....not that bad ;)
My temps in MBM5: Case: 43C CPU1: 52C CPU2:47C
Ok now I'm a little worried about my temps.... They are now running at 207X15= 3105 mhz each...sweet!
BUT: Here's the temps according to MBM5: case 52C CPU1: 57C CPU2:52C
I have one 120mm intake fan and 1 120mm exaust fan....Ambiant is about 23C, can I damage the motherboard running it 24hr/7 at this temps.......what it wil be this summer....

Just wanted to let everyone know that running 4 sticks of RAM in your PC-DL will disable PAT. But you can use Tweak 865/875/848 to re-enable it.
Here's a link to download Tweak 865:

PAT enabled w/ 4 sticks at 220fsb also hurt performance for me :p
ordered myself a OCZ 520w powerstream, tax returns finally came back :)
 Didn't really check to see if it helped or hurt. ;) Maybe we don't want to be doing this then.
Finally got my rig up and running.
Bought the PCH-DL, CM Stacker, 2*512MB Twinmos (regular, nothing special) and a cheapo ATI 9250 card. Had a almost 5 year old IBM drive laying around which would be good enough for D2OL.
Socket wire mod was pretty easy to do (wanted 1.6V max).
Plugged everything in yesterday afternoon, tried to install XP until my HD seemed to have died. Got a disk error when booting (although the disc is recognized in bios). Tried it in another rig, same thing.
So had to go out today, buying a new HD. Price difference between a 40 and 80 gig was only 10€, so I bought a Hitachi 80Gb SATA II drive.
Installation went fine, no probs. So did Rod's easy 4x installer (thx for that).
Right now, I have my 1.6LV's crunching at 2.8Ghz.
Will, of course, try more tomorrow or within the next days.
Let's crunch. :woot:
