It's because I have Winbond UTT chips in my Geil Value. In the latest Values you have a chance of getting this ICs. I can boot with 2.0-2-2-5-1T, but it will not be stable .. and I can't feed them enough voltage on this board :(. The rest of the settings are the tightest possible (onyl Max.Async is 6, Read Preamble 5.0 and TRFC can't go bellow 12). Very nice memory for how unexpensive it was.
There is so much talk about all these BIOS versions. :eek:
But what versions do u guys recommended 2 run when U wonna OC ?
1013 Final & 1014.001 Beta are out :D
1013 or 1014 are the best so far for memory settings. My CPU OC reached the same limit regardless of the BIOS version (and I have tried all the BIOSes from 1007 to 1014.001). Right nbow I am using 1014.001 and it seems to be good :) ... the same tight memory timings as in 1013 and no new bugs :D

is voltage needed when u tighten these settings that wont boot?
i cant seem to find the 1014 BIOS is the asus website..
can u provide a link for it?

I keep them at 2.8v, but that's not quite enough for UTTs ... unfortunatelly this is the max. I can get out of this board (without a VDIMM mod) as the DDR Booster is not working on it :(Quote:

can we not tell asus BIOS developers the things needed with their current BIOSes? noobness at work..
hmm right now I have a stick of 512mb and I want to buy more soon so I can run 2x512mb dual channel. But with one stick, I try to put the memory in slot A1 but it doesn't boot unless I put to B1 or B2, is this normal?
The recommanded memory slot for single channel is B1.

1014 is weird..wrong dividers agen and htt dont increase..always at 200 mhz..causes unstability to my system(always hangs and reboots)..
im going back to 1013..
but A1 memory slot should work if I get another stick to run dual channel ddr?
Yes .. for dual channel (at least from my experience) it's better to use A1 & B1. With the same memory timings I got Memtest errors in slot A2 & B2, while in A1 & B1 Memtest passed 48 hours of stress testing.
I just borrowed a stick from a friend and dual channel works with A1 and B1! :)
I am planning to get some TCCD ram, does anyone know how it will work with this motherboard? I've read that TCCD does not work very well with this motherboard and possibly all VIA chipsets
OCZ PC3200 platinum rev. 2.0 works very well with this mobo. I can use 250*10 at 1:1 2.5 -3-3-5 1T at 2.7 volts.Quote:

When you say 275 fsb, is this with memory at 1:1 1T ?
I can run 313*8 with memory at 208mhz without problems (mem at 2/3).
But i do not think that there are very many memories than can run faster than DDR500 (may be OCZ EL PC4200 platinum can go to DDR533) with this mobo without memory voltage mods.
my 1:1 ratio doesn't even work, i think the memory divider is messed up! I have DDR500 ram and am running 275x0.9 so my ram is about 247mhz right now. I am using 1013 final bios
According to OCA64 calculator, your ram should be at 225 when you are running your cpu at 275*9 with 5/6 divider if i understand your setup properly.
If you have access to 10 multiplier, 10*250 or so at 1:1 (2:1 according to Asus A8V) would be a better solution. Another solution is 8*300 with memory at 5/6 divider, that would bring the memory at 240. I am able to use either of these setup with my 3500+ Winchester.
What cpu are you using and at what speed? If your memory is really working at 247mhz (DDR494) 1T, it is quite good. The maximum frequency of the memories depends a lot on the memory controller on the actual CPU, there are some good ones and some not so good, them are the brakes.
I am running at 3000+ CBBHD 0444XPEW @ 2.5ghz 1.6v
You must be running 9*278 with memory at 5:3 divider (DDR333). That should give you the memory at ddr500. This is a very good overclock. :toast:
Ah too bad I need 1.6v to run stable, I won't go any higher than this ;)
I can't seem to do 275fsb 1:1 with my TCCD ram (3-4-4-8)! I get errors in memtest #7! :(
