6.7 gallons is about 25 liters. The picture says 27/31 so that isn't bad either.
It's just the standard MD-20R: normal head and normal flow.
Even if this is right and it's a good pump for WC I still don't know whether I should buy this pump; in the Netherlands we've got 220V/50Hz which will hurt the pump's performance I'm afraid. :(
You are correct. the iwaki's at 50Hz do not provide as stellar performance as they do in 60Hz.
I would suggest goign with an overvolted 50Z or two if you are afraid to overvolt. It will cost the same or less (depending if u choose one or not) and you will get very good performance. Very close to that of the Iwaki.
Companies change their specs at the drop of a hat. the specs i posted were accurate. i gues they just changed them now.
actually they were designed to work at 50hz: that is the mains frequency in Japan....Quote:

the upside to the lower speed is a lower power draw... though still high.
paul i know they are designed to work at 50hz.. but they run better at 60Hz :D
yes - if only we had standardised on 110v/60hz here...(it's also a lot safer!)Quote:

Overvolting is going to be hard to do since it's almost impossible to get a Meanwell PSU around here.
I might buy one next time I buy something from the USA.
you done neeed a meanwell. there are little 12v to 13.8 volt converters. they are less than 20 US dollars.
if you can get the iwaki cheap then do so. they are great.
you can get 13.8V supplies quite easily too (for radios, laptops, cctv etc.) - don't forget that the current draw of the pumps is pretty low (about 1.2Amps at 13.8V...) so you don't need anything that powerful...Quote:

Uhh.. will they allow direct buys at their distrubtion stores? I'm actually planning on getting the RD30. Wicked fun! :)Quote:

Ouch... I'm never going to be able to spend that much on a pump for ~0.2C.Quote:

that link looks good. but be advised that you shouldnt post ebay links on XS becuase ppl will poach them.
It isnt the high head version but either way u will get very good flow with it.
nikhsub1, what inverter do you use for your RD30? Can you give me a link?
he uses the 100watt meanwell afaik. not sure if its DC-DC or AC-DC though.
My mate had ordered a similar one, according to him it uses AC.Quote:

I use this one: http://meanwellusa.com/cat_pdfs/c_s-240.pdf it is AC-DC but you could use a lower rated one... like this: http://meanwellusa.com/cat_pdfs/c_s-150.pdfQuote:

Weird, I think the pricing went up on these? I remember paying ~ $89 for mine from here, but alas, maybe I'm getting too old to remember correctly lol.
shadowing, here is how it is wired, don't mind that they are 2 different cases.
i just received my aquastealth 50z from cooltechnica..
i went to a lot of trouble finding a retailer for this pump because i read everywhere it was better than the d4 (mcp650)..
but while this pump was flying from the states to europe the new mcp655 was introduced.. how does the 50z compare to the mcp655?
