Why don't you use the gigabyte ?? it's the best actually as Pkrew and Opp proved , with it u can use SC an DC and have a great FSB 1:1
Moreover my Vc was dieing in the 2nd serie of tests , sorry to ask you that , but can you rebench with multi X8 as i did first ? My Vc was fully functionnal at this moment ;)

The different chipsets count for very little since the memory controller is on the CPU itself. Also, I'm not comparing the FX-53 to the S754, I'm comparing YOUR 3500+ S939 to the 3200+ S754 at the same clocks, and both of these systems were Gigabyte NF3 Pro 250 chipsets. The FX benches were just to compare DC to SC, but the A8V didn't want to run SC. I believe these benches tell us a great deal. I've done enough testing of A64s to know what's faster. I don't mind if people pay too much for less performance. I just don't want them saying to me "why didn't you tell me?" or, as in misteroadster's case "I thought it would be more" concerning their 3D performance.;)
yes , but the fact is at 2K3 there is about 230 mhz improvement with DC at 2400mhz ; you don't update this compare.
i d tested A8V vs gigabyte , at 2K3 there is a big difference : more than 100 pts , it's not a little one.
Moreover , my 2nd serie of tests are not valid , i repeat my vc card was dieing , the scores were very strange as you can see.
i'm going to delete them.
But if those benchs are right the difference between FX and 3500+ would be 4000 points at 2,8ghz , i would do 36K with an FX53 , with the poor Gpu/ram frequency of my Pro vivo , i doubt a little.
To be sure you ve to do the first serie of test with 8X

I'm taking it to the Pomona computer show this weekend along with a bunch of other stuff I want to sell. I don't have time to bench anymore for awhile.
I refuse to sell to anyone on Xtremesystems.org because of the crybaby forum police who cry foul because they can't afford to buy anything themselves, so don't even ask me.
Look man, I never said the 3500+ was terrible at 3DMark and 3D games, just that it is not as good as the 1MB cache A64 chips. The Newcastles can't really be considered an upgrade from the ClawHammers unless you are talking 2800+ Clawhammer to 3800+ Newcastle, and even then the ClawHammer would only lose to the 3800+ in 3D if the Newcastle has at least a 200-400mhz advantage, something it will probably not have, especially against a CG core.
So in 3D applications and benchmarks, this is it:
1) Dual Channel ClawHammer (S939 FX-53)
2) Dual Channel SledgeHammer (S940 FX-53)
3) Single Channel Clawhammer (S754)
4) Dual Channel NewCastle (S939 non-FX)
5) Single Channel NewCastle (S754)
I am a huge AMD proponent so I hope many people buy the S939 stuff. Hopefully with this little bit of info people will be able to make a better choice.

A 3400+ with a higher FSB will beat a stock 3700+ badly and slaughter ANY Newcastle, even most that are heavily overclocked.

I never got in trouble. None of the mods or legit benchers cared. It was a bunch of trolls who have nothing better to do than complain about something that could not possibly affect them in a million years. Pretty sad.

You're wrong about 2k3. The CPU makes far less difference in 2k3 than 2k1. I didn't run 2k3 because I was short on time and didn't consider it relevant. This is why:
My highest 3700+ 100% Air 2k3 bench: 14628
My highest FX-53 100% Air 2k3 bench: 14863
Both were run with release Cat 4.7s, DX9.0b, identical VC clocks, but the FX-53 had 13mhz higher CPU clock (1mhz> on FSB).
Do you think your 3500+ could come so close to an FX-53? I don't.;)

Also, the $500.00 videocard he is referring to was a GeForce 6800 Ultra that I got at a time when NOBODY had them. So even though the card was $550.00 retail price, the market price at the time was upwards of $2000.00 (ever hear of supply and demand?), so the guy who bought it for $1400.00 was more than happy to do so.
