Hmm..read thru this entire thread and am now confused. I have volt modds on the VDD and VDIMM so I can hit 2v and 3.3v.
I understand that the vtt(?) needs to be exactly 1/2 of vdimm to get higher FSB's... correct?
What is the final recommended mod to achieve this..so many have been discussed... help a dope out :)

[EDIT] For those doing the Vref=Vtt mod, will disconnecting the original Vtt circuit stop the Vtt MOSFET from overheating?
If it's not necessary anymore, is it possible that isolating this circuit will reduce power consumption and maybe increase stability?

OK.... I've take my other Board and do the 3 in 1 mod again, maybe there's something wrong with my last board,...
Hal... u soldered to a different point for VDD boster, cek your south bridge temp,.. is it hot ?

But I still try to observe the automatic Vref=Vtt mod, I thing we need a little modifications for it,....
Btw,... has someone pls try the 2nd method ?
or.. cam on guys find a way for it,... and finish this treat with a great thing for NF7,.... cam on tictac...

here what i figure out about th e NF7s Vbt/Vtt circuit
On Vbt mosfet there is 3 pin generate Vbt voltage, 2 pin vdimm voltage, 1 pin i/o voltage , 1 pin ground and 1 pin vbt strenght...
and there is Vbt mosfet that control.......... vbt strenght voltage as shown on the pic...
or maybe this is the OVP for Vbt voltage... still cant figure out which circuit control the mosfet gate....
hope some one can continue this job....
so its either the vbt voltage take their source voltage from vdimm or v i/o is still unknown
i dont think many will understand what i'm trying to say here... anyway hope some1 can mod this circuit so that the vbt always half of vdimm voltage

p/s: i'm working on D24 2-2-2 Special bios.... so quite busy lately... the mem timing takes time to match the BH5 timing... wish me luck... aiming for 250-260MHz 2-2-2-11 timing 3.3V vdimm 1.65Vbt :toast:

With all the mods I managed to get 240 - 244 FSB depending on which tic-tac bios I use. I'll have to do a vdd mod to make sure a high FSB is a bios related thing and not anything else.
So Tic-tac keep up the good work! I want that 250+ FSB :)

Unfortunately I m still on the ice as my mobo didn't give the correct volts with the fet I replaced. Now I still need to find another one.
I think that the only way to make follow Vbt without any adjustments is the Vref mod...

eg, if you set BIOS Vdimm 2.9v = Actual VDimm 3.2v and you raise "default" Vbt by 0.15v so at 2.9v BIOS Vbt=1.6v... from then on the Vbt will track any changes you make to VDimm IN BIOS.. and will stay at a 1:2 ratio

Yes this is correct. So for me it's not really a priority this moment finding a 2in1 mod, but it will be nice if could some one figure it out...

A friend of mine did just yesterday the Vbt (cut trace method) and didn't encounter any problems (needs high 3.3 and HS on Dual Fet). And yes he gained FSB :)
Hi peeps, I'm "that friend" and all i can say is that vbt trace mod along with enduracell's modded antec (mobo definetely needs a raised 3.3 rail) currently allow 243 fsb on my board, tho still tuning for stability. Some evidence for the time being at 3.3Vdimm, 1.65VbtQuote:

I managed a 252 FSB stable for a few hours with the 3 in 1 mod. This is with mulitplier 8. Didn't test more/longer because my RAM needs 3.5V to catch up and I don't want to fry it.

Chroma's FSB is on multi 10.5 and 3Dmark stable (perhaps prime95 too) I think he will manage to hit stability with 250 FSB... :)
Ok, I have a new NF7 which is doing ok. I have done the normal vdimm-mod, and I have question about this vtt stuff.
If I have the VR set to the resistance so that 2,6v in bios=2,9v, will the vtt be 1,3v, so it's better to use 2,9v in bios without the mod (vdimm-mod that is)?
My TwinMOS BH-5 runs great after the vdimm-mod, but my KHX3000 runs crap (it was pretty good before) for some reason.
Yes is better to use 2.9 in BIOS w/o the mod.
2.9 BIOS 1.5 Vbt
2.6 BIOS 1.35 Vbt
And now do the cut-trace/pot Vtt mod. Set Bios to 2.9V, set Vdimm to = 3.3V, and then Vtt to 1.65V. Then you will end up with 2.6-2.9Vbios = 3.0-3.3Vdimm. And Vtt will track correctly...1.5V-1.65Vtt.

Can you easily post a pic of your Vref = Vtt mod? I did that according to the pics I have seen and it didnt change the Vtt in the least on the 2 boards I did it on.Quote:
