My friend just did a stupid thing, and I would like everybody to know of the thing.
He unplugged the main ATX cable from the mobo and tried to jumpstart it (to meassure voltages) with the ATX12 cable still in the board.
This made one MOSFET burn out next to the connector. There's a hole in the top of it. (See attached image, between sinks and 2 caps)
So beware of doing that!
I would like to know if you guys think it is possible to replace this component?
Or is the board more likely to be completely destroyed?
I know some of you guys have dead boards lying around. I would be xtremely glad if someone could unsolder that component and send it to me.
I can pay for it and shipment through PayPal.
