:ROTF:
This 860 is not good in bclk - 1.4V vtt = 235 bclk / 1.45 vtt = 238 bclk / 1.5vtt = 240 bclk...I get the feeling I'm doin' something wrong...3 chips and all between 240 and 251 is quite strange ^^

another chip
not bad for this stage and suck for other stage :))
i have problem with sabertooth max voltage for cpu is 1.7 any vcore mod for fix this ?
and any mod for M ||| EXTREME ?
brian ? :D
Mods for MIIIE - only CB mod needed. look around the socket left towards the pci-e you'll find some resistors placed near the socket. measure for 750 ohm (iirc the 2nd from left, not sure) - you can disable ovp for imc and vcore which will give you up to 2V+ what should be enough :)
did a quick ram test with one stick - 1225 which is actually the highest ddr3 I've ever reached myself...well at least something good out of today's testing :p:
I'm using extreme unmodded, no CBB at -70.
I made a post on asus forums how to do cbb mod but....i will warn you every board i have modded "correctly" has met an untimely demise, I just deal with cbb now.

Sabertooth i saw a mod posted, did it, board was dead.......so won't reccomend that one :P
The mod you really want for sabertooth isn't vcore.
You want reverse pll mod........
I modded a lot MIIIF (4+) and MIIIE (3+) during Cebit and GC with some silver color and all of them worked fine (better than before) under cold.
It's not a question if they work better SOF, its more or less how long.
max III modded dead testing on air before it ever saw ln2.....
Then I think fester can confirm this, the little ITX giga board acting wacky after mod and then eventually no longer posting, also dead on air never saw cold.
Brian, was it always just the board? Could the mod also be the deadly cause for cpus?
655k and 530 both did 260bclk and would not budge from there. my bad luck in cpu's this round :-(
was a really fun week though! keep pushing it guys!
Great Comming Back Persian Guys :)
Nice To See U Both On TOP :)
Keep updating, please!
Are we speaking about the same mod? Just the resistor mod you do around the socket? Some ppl say you should remove the resistor what I personally would not do - I always simply shortcut them with some silver pen.
We tortured a bunch of MIIIF for 5 days during Cebit, I took one home and benched some more times with it. Also my MIIIE now runs since end of August, testing under air and cold, not had any issues yet.
I am quite wondering about your problems.
seems the problems i have seen arise under hard air testing only after the mod which is why i make a jumper mod to shut it off if i do mod now.
I never lost a cpu aerou so would not know.
Something I did notice is bclk was a tad more challenging modded? Maybe just my imagination.
Here is some data:
655K under air (max. 1.4VTT) - 200 BCLK 32m stable, ~205 max
655K under ss (max. 1.51VTT) - 251 BCLK screen, 240 32m with 1.45 VTT
i3-530 under air (max. 1.4VTT) - 225-228 BCLK screen, 220 32m
i3-530 under ss (max. 1.51VTT) - 248 BCLK (iirc) screen
i7-860 tested only ss:
1.4V vtt = 235 bclk
1.45 vtt = 238 bclk
1.5vtt = 240 bclk
And beginning of this year:
670 ES air - iirc ~220 BCLK screen / 215 32m with 1.35 VTT
670 ES DICE - 275 BCLK screen / 271 32m with 1.48 VTT
This was done on my old MIIIF - I think it was one of the best boards I've ever owned.
Couldn't do any higher BCLK on LN2 during several tests.
Never tested that in detail but somehow (specially under air) I would agree. With modded boards I never hit more than 225 under air (and having extremely high gains when using cold)...maybe I did not test hard enough (not exceeding 1.4VTT under air for safety reasons) but I also have this feeling sometimes.Quote:

could explain the weird arguments we saw in forums a few pages back ;)
Of course this is just a wild guess and my imagination ;)
First test for RAM stage 2500... - gave up on bclk...everything just scaled on VTT...would be interested in what IMC/VTT voltage you used in TOP10 after the final ranking :)
don't tell me it's pll and/or vdimm I would be confused then :p: during ram-testing I remarked you need to have a certain balance between imc and vdimm....
@hiwa thursday I'll start hand-picking my 6 sticks of elpida - today only tested one but learned a lot already :) not got the trick with bclk but maybe chewie brought me onto something...testing it after business trip...need to get up early today but it was a good week with you again. congratz to TOP10 - all of you did an awesome oc-job!
Why Extreme OC Country's Sweden??? :D
And When Click In His User Show Real Country ;)
hey
i submitted a 262bclk...its not updating for some reason.
OOOPS it updated....#14 is low..but oh well...1hr oc....
grats guys
