This was deserving of three days of hype? Wow, and to think people actually get paid for this stuff. In a recession too.

for fun, template attached.
Ya, I can see why this would really pi$$ some people off who were looking to buy the product. I was just hoping it would help drive the ATI prices down a bit. :( Competition is good for everybody.
Fermi's requirements...
PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot
800W power supply (1200W for SLI)
10,000+ BTU window air conditioner (6,000 BTU during winter above 35 degrees North or 40 degrees South)
I read Charlie's article earlier with some scepticism.
While I doubted performance would be so low in comparison to the AMD 5870, one thing really bothers me.
nVidia's most pressing task must be to halt sales of AMD cards until they are ready to ship their own.
JHH was doing exactly that recently when he was talking about the lack of DirectX11 titles currently out.
However, if they really wanted to halt sales I do believe they would have leaked more than a few benchmarks by now. The only two comparisons I have seen so far are meaningless.

lol
This is my opinion about this announcement...

:ROTF:
The funniest thing about this announcement is how bothered by it some people are getting.
Who cares when they release? I mean really? Unless you own stock in the company, what does it really matter? It'll eventually come out. And it will either be The bomb, or A bomb...and purchases of it will be made accordingly once the benchmarks are out.
Until then, we'll buy the best ATI card as long as it is the best for the money, or we'll buy the best Nvidia card, as long as it's the best. It doesn't really matter who is the best, because most of the people who frequent this forum are probably going to buy whatever is best at the moment regardless of what brand it is.
So why all the drama? Really. I mean, what's the point. It's a friggin video card. Who cares who makes it as long as you can clock the hell out of it?
peace,
Aielman
I make gaming PCs, sales are down because nvidia doesn't have a card in the top end space and people are waiting for it before they buy. Besides, nvidia fans tend to spend more on an upgrade rather than making sure they get the most bang from however many bucks they are willing to part with.
$770!!!!!!!!!! :eek::eek::eek:

I think there is some misunderstanding going around with this announcement.
Most importantly, 3/2610 is a hard launch date. Fermi based products will be available for sale that day. Products will be demo'd that day.
And best of all- I'll post my impressions of my time using Fermi on that day. :)

This might be a move by SabrePC to get some quick viral marketing this morning as it is a tad fishy that they posted that up right before the 'big' NVIDIA announcement this morning
