Love the paint job on those pumps, Cpt.

Wow them pumps look amazing, your photography skills are outstanding.
Keep the good work up.:D
Awesome job CptDreadFlint
Really good work with the black color shame!
Nice Pics / work... It seems like everyone except me has a professional camera / studio to take pictures of their computer parts.... Maybe if I spent a little less on computers I could purchase a nicer camera.... :)
Cant wait to see the finished product....
Excellent work Flint, looks sweet.
Yay!!! An update to my favorite build!
The pumps are looking great... Nice job on the sleeving too! Keep up the excellent work with this stupendous build! :D
(Still looking forward to the port hole placement.)
Merry Christmas!
Wow! Thanks for all the wonderful feedback, girls and guys!
Currently on holidays from plundering and pillaging and spending some much needed rest hanging out with my family, overeating, and getting jiggy with acrylic and aluminum panels.
I shall post the location of the possible locations for the location of the port window placement locations. (OMG What????)
Also a post showing a hose acrylic light situation.
Til then, here's three more pics of the d5/655 that didn't make the cut on the first post on the previous page:

Arrrr!
Wishing everybody had a wonderful Christmas/Holiday Season and good times and new LC toys for twenty-ten!
looks awesome Captain. that paint job came out great
can't stop wondering Captain, candy black tops without a single speck of dust look brilliant
I'll say it again after seeing more pics - I WANT YOUR BABIES! :dribble:
~Bex
Man those D5s are sexy. :)
Thanks, GK! I'm working on incorporating more functional bling. (Is that an oxymoron?)
Thanks for the nod, illidan
Bent! I'm no rattle-can expert by a long shot.
Thanks for your feedback a couple of weeks ago regarding your idea you posted describing how a d-plug and a regular pump top can live in harmony within this beast.
I'm actually experimenting with something inspired by your idea.
Pics forthcoming...
Thanks for checking in Callen - I am amazed at your metal work and acrylic lighting craftmanship!
Truly inspiring stuff you've got going and I'm looking forward to following your progession, matey
P.S. Mouse sanders rule :D
Thanks for checking in, Joe! I still check out your DNA ver.1 build log. It's one of my favorite builds on XS!
Thanks ohms! After several sessions of sanding using various grits and light coating, I was finally pleased with the results.
No clean room access here, Kibbs. The use of a make-up applicator brush, compressed air, micro fiber towels, smoke, mirrors and PS' healing brush help deliver pics from dust.
Here's an exclusive behind-the-scenes snapshot of my work table in complete dust-ladened disarray. Not so clean:

Thanks, fhan! Legendary, off-the-hook, sleeving-picture taking guy, you.
Thanks Arthur! Appreciate the feedback!
Ding! Hope you had a Merry Chrissy! Black on black in black with black kinda came out suprisingly well on camera, me thinks as well.
A splash of blue will find itself in the final build pics.
Thanks so much, Haz! Our parts are almost identical! Great minds think thusly.
Glad to hear you got your situation straightened out with ASUS.
Hope all is well in Florida! And thanks for mine, Sharon!:

Thanks for checking in, John! Hope you're finding academia at Standford fulfilling.
Enjoy the winter break!
Thanks, M_JOnes! Welcome to XS!
Spanish women are drop dead gorgeous. I mean Hi SaNxU!
Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you, Malkeiwicz! I, too, struggle with having so many interests that aren't exactly cheap. Photography makes modding that much more fun.
So I consider myself lucky that I found a hobby that enhances another.
Good luck in your search for a DSLRs that suits you.
Thanks SO much for that heartwarming personal message you sent me, G!
Appreciate the gesture very much.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hope you had an awesome Chrissy, Vinas! I hate to keep anybody in suspense for too long.
I shall be working diligently to post pics showing a few possible locations of the port window on my next post.
Tox! Try Sailor Jerry rum yet? Whacha think? On a completely random and lateral note, Forrest losing was a complete shock after what he did to Rampage.
Thanks, GK. Make up brush applicator, Microfiber towel, Compressed air, angle of lights and type of lighting help reduce the amount of dust you see. It's really all about smoke and mirrors.
Is it still snowing where you're at? I love the snow. Don't get enough of that where I'm docked.
Heh. You're a riot, Bex!
I'm fresh out of babies at the moment but if I happen to come across one, I'll send one your way.
Cheers, Lass!
Thanks, MT! Hope you're having an awesome and *warm* holiday season over there in MI.
I am still debating on whether the port windows will open from the insides or have it mounted on the outside to also act as a housing situation for a fan.
Here are two pics showing possible locations of the window temporarily mounted on the interior.
Opening the window clears the CPU res. So no bumping. Yay.

Through the tubing from the Motherboard/GPU cards:

I'll take some shots of the window mounted externally on my next update.
Thanks for checking in!
More soon!
Not bad there.
It was 40 degrees and rainy on X-mas here. We been seeing flurries over the past few days, but nothing has really been sticking. I'm not complaining as people here can't drive at all when it snows. :(
EXCELENT
That was the first word that came to my mind.
It is a gorgeous building. You are pretty far from being a clumsy man :D, by time It will be more a pice of art than a computer.
Also is great to find a beautiful build all made over powerfull hardware.
I need to lear how to take that kind of photos you have for my 1st build.
Good luck with all this!
Love your work and beautiful pumps.
Portholes are looking interesting.
This work log is filled with great work, and the Captain's much-appreciated humor and wit - but the above response to Bex made me do the proverbial "spit my coffee on the keyboard" trick. (You are both a riot!)Quote:
I'm fresh out of babies at the moment but if I happen to come across one, I'll send one your way.
awesome pics Cpt. I really like what you are doing with the window there.
No I havent tried Sailor Jerry rum yet. I've been bouncing between Blue Moon beer, Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack or JD Green Label, or Captain Morgan Private stock.
who did Forrest lose to? I know he lost to Silva a while ago but he beat Tito in the decision at UFC 106 which I was happy to see.
I like the port holes on the inside... and probably the outside too. So far the port holes are my favorite addition to this build! They really tie in the character with the theme!!!
For the port hole near the res, can you see the res from the other side? If so that will look amazing, even moreso with some lighting on the res at night.
