My Asus P4P800 BIOS AMI v.1019.005 Build Date: 10/14/04 only needs a vdimm modification; currently I have 2.55, 2.65, 2.75 & 2.85 volt options and I'd like to to see the volt options go up to at least 3.6v. I have the AMI BIOS utility AMIBCP 8.0 mod tool v2.25 beta and v7.51.03 but I don't have the expertise to use them. If someone could show me how to do the mod myself or do the mod for me I'd be very greatful and I'll share that modded BIOS with other via this forum. :toast:
Well I got no where using AMIBCP v7.51.03 perhaps because my BIOS is to large or new for that older utility. When using AMIBCP v2.25 beta sometimes referred to as v8.0 I loaded my P4P800 BIOS, clicked Setup Config./Advanced/JumperFree Config. When highlighting JumperFree Config. in the window on the right side under Group Control Structures I found DDR Reference Voltage and the numbers next to it were 0290. I then clicked the Bios Strings tab and scrolled down until I found 0290 which again linked to DDR Reference Voltage. I then edited the 2.55, 2.65, 2.75 & 2.85 volt setting in the string to 2.65, 2.85, 3.05 & 3.25 volts; clicked File/Save As and saved the modified BIOS file as P4P800Mod.rom. Did I do it right??? Can I safely flash that modified BIOS??? Thanks in advance!!!
Hello, loaded me a Modet Bios and it up-played. That Bios ist from BigToe for IC7Max3 BTS1.3 Afterwards I went into bios and my attitudes made. As I dan save and exit to make wanted can I just as more enter press as I want. It stores it not and remains in the menu. ESC is useful also nix auser STRG +ALT+Enf. It takes the other attitudes at Intel Raid, Intel branding disable etc.... But if I want over clocks go nix it stand in the Bios however if I CPUZ start stand kind of clock and Fsb. As I tried this Bios again against a new of Abit zuflashen hang myself the AWdflash.exe on look for the Bios.Bin file happened nix more. Can someone help me?
sorry for bad translation i´m from germany

I tried the Award Bios Editor, but I guess I need an additional plugin for it to recognize my particular bios. Any other programs that may work? Keep in mind I have negligible hacking skills.
Thanks.
well you can flash that modified bios of course but it wouldn't change anything because these strings you edited at the adress "0x0290" are only names for values which are still the same...Quote:

so does anybody know how to change these values
Buy a: OCZ DDR Booster :hehe:
If you look in the bios, you will see under in the bios screen: 2.XX
2.51 for example on my Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, so we need a up to date version of: AMIBCP 8, I think.
Because the lastest version is: 2.25 Beta :(
is there any gigabyte k8nf-9 modded bios around?:)
You can't mod the bios to make the mobo do what it's not physically capable of, that's why some are forced to change/add/delete resisters, etc. :fact:Quote:

why should 2.85V be the max ?!?
because the resisitors, diodes, capacitors, mosfets, and other assorted parts that make up the electrical circuitry of the board dont allow anything over the max unless they are designed to be capable of doing so.
Only the DFI's socket 754 and 939 motherboards are capable of this.
Because that's all the physical circuitry is capable of delivering. Just because you write 200MPH on your speedometer doesn't mean your car can go that fast, does it? To increase that capability, you may be forced to mod the hardware by adding or changing a resister that supplies the voltage to a given component. Does it make sense now?Quote:

I believe STEvil is referring to the fact that those DFI boards are able to deliver more than 2.85v because they were manufactured to do so. One thing you need to understand is that the bios is just software used to tweak the board. It's not a magical end-all be-all product that can make the mobo do things it's not capable of doing.Quote:

hehe.. no, i have vdimm-modded my motherboard and it works well (oc also ^^) but i don't really like the mod and while i was searching for a modded p4p800 bios i found barnacle bills post and i find it really interesting...
yes, right but that isn't new to me ;)Quote:
