Needed some cooling on my v-regs. Salvaged the heatsync from an old Asus P5N32 590 board and used a glue + AS5 to attach. Very strong (not permanent) and cooled very well. Purchased the Swiftech syncs and use them now but I dont think they work as well as these did :D.

Geforce with ati cooler

Hi, my fan recently died on my geforce fx5900, but i don't have a decent cooler lol, just an x1300 lying around.. so i thought what the heck, it is always better than no cooler lol..

love it, these cases are awesome. My only concern with most of these, FIRE HAZARD. don't blow up in a ball of firery agony. LOL

That card was great, loaded at 100C with taht cooler and still went strong... Even when I had a Zalman VF900Cu on it that covered only HALF the core...

On our last session, we had to cool the NB on the Asus P5Q with LN2, so we needed to swap mosfet heatpipe part cooler for the one on the side. For the side we choosed cooling with cut AMD box cooler...

Two HR-03GT 2x80mm fans on one with blue masking tape to direct airflow. One Fanless in reverse. Held together by zipties and luck . O and a 60mm AMD fan from my 720BE factory hs for the VRM. idle was around 40c full load 50c.

This isn't as hardcore ghetto as most but thought i would share, i think its fairly common for the board i did it too even though it ended up with the mosfets STILL frying, o well.

Did this to a BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX, for some reason it doesn't come with any heat sink stock on the mosfets.. I dont have any pictures of the board and heat sink together but i found the heat sink and took a few pics, and ill add a few of the burnt board as well :) Stupid quad cores and crappy pwm designs..or should i say cheap. This was just a cut up amd heatsink that came with my old athlon 3200+, took quite a while to cut through the thing with an old dull hacksaw blade :hammer:

Well, my media center is going to be made into a proper one...I just ordered myself a Lian-Li Lancool PC-K7B for $80 with free shipping. It should be here sometime next week.

Makes sense given the parts you have for it. Any particular reason you went the upright route? And what type of games do you play on it?
