Yes, get yourself a multimeter.
You will gain both voltage and precision.
Also, you can add caps to the two power phases to increase stability at high clocks.

Don't worry about the caps. It's more of a finesse mod.

Well, a trimmer would have given you the precision to adjust the voltage on the fly. Adding the 100K resistor should give ~.05v increase from currant VID.
BTW, from my personal experience 100K trimmer works better for vMEM the the 200K. If you will check, the 200K trimmer will be tuned well below 100K to get vMEM above 2.0v

On memory there is a trimmer, when i have a tester, i change from 200 to 100!
I know that the simple resistence is fixed, so i have always 0.5+, but i can change vid by switch dip (from 1.20 to 1.50). I can have maximum of 1.55 right?

The 6.3v 820uF caps should do nicely.
You need to test card's voltage while the card is operating.

You just need to put a cap or 2x on those GPUv points...I like to set them at an angle, and solder them in.. and yes, the side with the stripe is ground. Here is a better pic of some caps installed on a 4850...

I have swapped out caps a few times on my 8800GS...and havent been able to tell if some work better than others or not. Testing with max vcore and clocks though, yield another 30-50mhz for me with caps of any kind on my 2x output phases for GPUv...I think the 2.5v caps will work good as well.

Touch your iron to the points underneath the board to free the caps.
I use a mini-torch to get 'em out...the OEM solder is sometimes pretty hard to heat up...either way will work though.
Yes, the VR mod will give you greater precision on the amount of voltage you are giving the card. Sorry for the late response. How is your mod going?
