has anyone figured out how to get past that wall?
I can get past it but had to pull back because of temps. Cpu temp in smart guardian was hittin 70'. i lifted rig over to front door 2 cool it (pretty cool ere in irl at nite). gonna change to better cooler soon. Had to push 1.5v to core & add 1.7v to nb 4:3 divider. cant go higher on this setup. missis keeps turnin on the heating which isn't helping matters. :slapass:Quote:

im currently hitting 3.2ghz @ 1.28vcore
temps are stable, low 30's on the cpu. im using a bigtyphoon modded with a 100cfm fan
Here's a screenie!

Not bad, considering where im at! =)
set the NB to 1.75 (max) and you will be able to go higher. I keep it at 1.75 all the time...
Im also on 8/30 and everything is working fine. I have zero issues with this board except for the 400FSB wall with 2Gb.
budwise,
what else did you tweak? how much vcore? is your 3.6ghz oc stable? thanks man!
I'm on the 830 now...still the same, when it posts, I can o/c it to around 360FSB.
btw, anyone else having trouble with the 4:3 divider? I can't get it to post with that divider on any of the 8xx bioses
tbh I can get it to work, but it yields no real fsb advantage over 1:1 on my board so it's not really worth it.
400X9 (3.6) is stable for the first boot and will run Orthos, Pi, whatever just fine. But when i reboot it will then give alot of grief trying to repost and that is where the problem is...

Same here! when are the guys over at dfi coming up with the official release?? people are starting to mock dfi's performance. Even the crappy ds3 performs better than this.Quote:

Edit - this board really dissapoints me, seems like with a 1333 strap it would be a real monster, i mean some people hitting 430+ on 1066 is very good imo.
does anyone know how to disable the EIST option on this board?
Well I tried the vmch mod and upped it to 1.95 and the board still struggles to boot at 380+ fsb with my 6600, pumping more volts through the nb didn't help me at all, same old coldboot issue.
I have a 6700 on the way, I can live with a max reliable post/booting 370fsb with a 10x multiplier to play with I guess.
Ah who am I kidding, I think its about time for me to throw in the towel on this board, it was a great price but I guess you get what you pay for, DFI for Intel isn't like DFI for AMD.
More cold boots. probs not gone away yet, this 0830 is a bit buggy. :hitself:
When are Dfi gonna get their act together?

Bios 8/30
I also diable C1E as well. As far as other stuff like drive strengths i simply leave everything on auto. The only other stuff i change in the overclocking area is my memory timings set to 4-4-4-12 4:5 which puts it up to DDR2 948 with my 24/7 OC. I also have removed the NB cooler and changed the stock goop for AS5 which helped my NB temps tremendously. With a 90mm fan pointed at my NB, temps dropped 22C just from swapping to AS5...
7/31 BIOS here :)
The problem is NOT with the BIOS, the difference between that 380-390 everyone blabs about is just too big. :slap:
The board is NOT modded, everything is air cooled.
I've set the PCIe frequency to 120MHz, btw :)
I'll try 830 soon, I guess I'll get 480FSB :D
no the problem its not the bios its the board
Yeap, that's what I meant :)
Please notice you are running only 1Gb of ram. 2Gb wont clock as high on the FSB...
