Well I got my E6300 to 420FSB.
I have to say Im tottaly shocked.
I bought a set of cheap Patriot 333s, timmings 56615
And the ram wont run at anything but stock timings, stock speed, OCed anythign, just wont post with anything but stock timings.
I couldnt do 1 loop of super Pi at 400fsb, but 400+ anything it does no problem.
So an E6300 on a P5B Vanilla with cheap 333MHz Patriots running at 420FSB with a 1:1 divider so the ram is 420 too, who woulda thunk it would OC by that much at 2.1V :P Value for the money eh And also an Artic

Im still not done though, Ill wait a couple of days to see how stable it is, although after 3 hours of stress seems to work fine. Anything from 32mb SuperPi to gaming.
Can someone point me a link where steps of bios update from Windows is explained?
By the way 0701 is right one for winXP?
thanks.
Download the latest BIOS from the Asus site (0711 i think), install Asus Update from the software CD or download from web. Click update BIOS from file. Reboot.Quote:

I got a 2GB OCZ 6400 gold kit.
I think I'll go with the P5B, but I'm not sure yet, any recommendations?
Tested like 10 P5Bs (nonDeluxes) last month - all struggled to reach 420MHz, so you`re better off with DS3 or P5B-Deluxe
The new bios greatly improved my ocing on the board tho. I was struggling with 400+fsb on the board with 0509 bios. With the new one I got too 425*8.. But im waiting for phase+voltmods. Then ill try and max everything out. Hows the nb heatsink quality coolingwise from the P5B?
Regards
My p5b vanille loaded windows and benchmarked at 500 stock settings.Quote:

Yes , I was :slobber: myself. My old P5B did 470MHz aircooled easy - but it got dead. Since I got friends in a PC shop :D I tested all the P5Bs they had - but they were all bad :( My current P5B is struggling to hit 425MHz :(Quote:

Edit: I'm not really sure. It would be very fun to break 4GHz with my E6400.. I thought the DS3 had a lot of bugs, but maybe most of them has been solved with newer bioses? I'll order a new board tomorrow.
say u guys have any one had problem with getting above 600mhz mem speed on this , can get above it :s . i know that mems can easy handel it :p but if the bord can ?
any one know ? hope is only a bios bug that gives me that poor mem support
did you do Vmem mods ?
stock volts of 2.1V is not enough for 550MHz for most of mem sticks ;)
lol g.skill 6400HZ give up to 2.85vdimm not over the 600mhz :s , this sucks , can do 550mhz mem 32m pi and 3d and stuff with 2.4vdimm ;) .Quote:
