we'll be running DDR3 ;)
with ddr2 probably ~5500-5550 with 5:6 ratio and my dominators would smoke the 32M run

Fredyama:very good first run:clap:
Heya,
Great submissions eva2000, 3oh6  Although not exactly fitting the rules :p: but fredyama and hipro5 have some sweet times at 3.6GHz!!! Toasty 2.36v on DDR3 George :) Also, very nice CAS4 on 10000C5DF, dinos :yepp: I'm personally looking forward to even more DDR3 results, though.
BTW, can still play with you guys? It's been almost 4 months since I had a moment to sit down and cook up another result. I finally got around to doing it and managed to raise the bar a little higher :) Let's get some competition going, right?
12:xx
Corsair Dominator TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF @ DDR3-2016 7-7-7-15, vdd=2.34v
Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3528MHz
Asus P5E3 Deluxe, BIOS 0503
DRAM Command Rate - [1T]
DRAM Static Read Control - [Auto] --> effectively same as [Disabled]
AI Clock Twister - [Strong]
AI Transaction Booster - [Enabled 3]
"nothing special" standard WinXP Pro SP2 installation; Copy-Waza, Maxmem=600
all set in BIOS, straight boot to Win, no changes done with Memset, SetFSB, etc.
http://www.clockmehigh.com/TestingAt...2M_LCC_8x5.gif
Note: CPU-Z 1.41 seems to have a problem correctly reporting memory frequency on this motherboard. But FELIX's Memset as well as Everest Ultimate get it right. However, the former shows Command Rate as 2T when BIOS sets it at 1T.
Thanks a lot for giving me a chance to submit another score, guys!
:toast:
woah bachus @3528mhz!
Wow Bachus, very fast 32M
holy smokes man killer run
thanks for the compliments
i am squeezing the last bit of life out of the DDR2 gear before i move onto some serious DDR3 benching very soon
it's awesome to see what these DDR3 sticks can do and having RAM clocking that high also helps a lot with lower multi chips and will make even more drastic differences with LN2 benching as most guys are going 1:1 so RAM is not maxed out properly......
this Saturday i've got a big event and some LN2 .....we'll have 6x different rigs setup for the OC show but only a couple of extreme clocking ones :)
it should be a lot of fun and i'll certainly work on the 8.xx category a little ;) :D
those sticks are on fire
someone call the fire department :D:D:D:D:D
you know it...if it isn't in there by a hair, it isn't trying ;)
thanks man and great to see you setting the bar in this thread again. you beat me to the punch though with the 1000MHz+ runs. i just happened to be working on my 12.XX run but i am definitely not at 7-7-7 or 500FSB at PL6 but i am also not at 2.34v, these sticks are my only set so i gotta make sure they last...hopefully soon i get some more to play with. absolutely sick memory and MB. this DDR3 sure is fun to play with isn't it?
i thought i was doing good getting the 12.XX category feasible at 3550MHz...apparently not thanks to BA
**removed image...a couple posts down i replaced with a real run :)
Thanks guys!Too many factors out there determining the price end-user will pay but cost of Micron's 1Gbit DDR3 is still the most significant chunk of cash that goes in it...
@ dinos
Yeah man, I've seen you cranking some serious clocks lately, on DDR2/DDR3 as well as CPUs! Great stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing you break into 8:xx. I also need to get back to some more serious overclocking, although single stage is not cutting it anymore, haha, and since I started this job I somehow just can't find enough spare time...
Damn man, that's very impressive run!!! I thought I could be safe for a moment at 3528MHz but I guess I need to start working on a backup score now
Let's keep this thread alive, it's a lot of fun :toast:
damn 3oh6
such low vdimm at those clock
new crucials are rocking as well :) wow
i noticed those sticks have the new Intel XMP SPD as well :)
these sticks seem to get better the more i beat on them. i am certainly impressed with how they are holding up to the big boys that BA is running. normally i don't openly plug reviews like this but since a few people have been asking me what 24/7 stability of this particular kit is like, you can see some stability testing in my review of these exact modules that i am beating on here. a dual 32M OC Report will be out in a couple weeks on these sticks...still finding the limits of the MB at this point. now on to the matter at hand...
i have almost evened up the playing field, still not ready to go over 2.0v with my babies yet so CL7 is out of the question at this frequency and my MB still says P35 in the description instead of that yucky X38 suff, but i did spend a couple minutes with a 50K ohm VR and the P5K3 to get that PL down to 6 at this FSB :D
you better find some free time next week because here i come BA
i believe in full disclosure so here is a pic of the mod...thanks to SF3D and his P5K-Dlx vmod thread (the MCH mod is the same for P5K3 obviously)

@bachus, I know, I know, was just kidding.
@3oh6-seems like it could've been .2MHz lower...keep trying :rofl:
that PL mod is interesting
what chip would i look for on other motherboards to do the same thing
say Gigabyte P35 or X38 ones for example????
That's a vmch mod...
yeah, the P5K3 is a bit crippled with just 1.70v as the max voltage selectable from BIOS. without a little more juice, PL6 at 500FSB was a pipe dream for my board...instant lockup. 500FSB PL6 1:2 was so much further away from a pipe dream. with 1.95v now, i ran 32M at PL6 1:2 for damn near 4 hours straight with the Noctua NC-U6 for cooling so rock solid.
i still haven't had time for testing but i hope that the new found MCH voltage helps get me over the 940MHz dual 32M wall i found. otherwise the OC report of this Ballistix kit will have to focus on tight timings where it doesn't really excel.

Can't believe what a struggle it was but i finally got sub 13 minutes at 3.6GHz.
I must be one of the very last to achieve this but i finally acomplished my target.
I have been concentrating on 965 board results way too long, ignoring the fact i have a P35 chipset based board.
This might look similar but i found out the hard way they're not.
On 965 boards one could get sub 13 min at 3.6Ghz with just 400MHz FSB and a 2:3 divider to set mem to 600MHz.
For too long i've been thinking that this was possible on a P35 board too, how wrong i was!!
I just didn't understand that changing my timings and subtimings didn't give any gain in SuperPi, then i suddenly dawned on me that i was starved for FSB!
After crancking up my FSB and lowering my multi, i found that i gained a hell of a lot, so i needed ram that could do real high frequenty's so i rolled the dice and got me two sticks of Crucial Ballistix PC8500.
These didn't let me down, heck, they even do 1M at DDR 1200 4-4-4. :)
So back to the drawing board, first untweaked run brought 13 min 6 seconds, next was what i was looking for:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...hots/sub13.jpg
I think i can better this with some finetuning but hey, the result is there!
Geez, can't remember the last time i typed such a long post, i'm exited!! :D
Finally some 'decent' times on a 2MB chippie. No windows tweaks, just experimenting with copy-waza and CDT.
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...n-/1359891.jpg
Hey massman, keep in mind, 2mb chips are only 3-4 seconds slower in 32M than 4mb chips.
If you don't believe me, check out this thread, a lot of pages back. ;)
CDT + windows tweaks ;)
man this thread's been so popular it's hard to keep up with all the updates
shame that there is no automatic way of updating like HWBOT type thread
actually massman
it would be interesting if HWBOT promoted efficiency and this type of format can be adopted by HWBOT
it will make people really think seriously about this kind of stuff
creating time categories would be so great for hwbot :D
so you guys take Yorkfield entries :D
got a sub 10m 4.8GHz run here hehehehe and that's with DDR2 still and just simple tweaks

One core is because we were chasing 1M at ln2, then just for fun try 32M@3.6ghz and result is interesting:

yep for 1m DFI blood iron is awesome, for 32m asus for now is better. max fsb for both boards is over 650fsb:

fast try (low volts) maybe on DFI 650 is possible with air (chilled) too.

My P5B is starting to lose breath; it fails to boot 90% of times because of memory support.
Anyway, I think I've discovered better MCHBAR tweaks than those used for this run. I need to find the patience for trying again.
@Misko: Do you still have this DFI P965 of yours?
I would have pleased you to make some MCHBAR dumps in order to see how coded is the strap at high FSB's. :)
nice run mate :)
here is one of my runs from last night
the board is pretty slow but i managed to edge you out a little ;) :D

this thread is not allowed to die...if Coop isn't going to maintain it, someone has to. i am pretty sure vBulletin doesn't allow it but i am volunteering to commandeer this thread and do the updates. if the powers that be can make that happen, i would be happy to take over. this thread is just to damn fun and helpful to let disappear.

nice, i look forward to tasting what you are cooking.
i probably never would have ran 55x*7 until you showed us what it could do, so it was all your doing ;)
the funny thing is that i could be running that time block quicker. the P5K3 is a bit of an odd bird and has me scratching my head. the 3899MHz run is on the 333 strap at PL8 (PL7 will not run at these settings regardless of MCH voltage). on the 200 strap at PL7 3:5 giving slightly higher mem speed, i can run up to 560*8...but if i drop the multi to 7X at even 555FSB, i get errors in the first couple loops. no other changes, simply dropping multi provides instability but at 8X it runs 32M all day

This is mine :) think its pretty good.. as what i've seen here :P
Http://hem.bredband.net/infan/cellsh...i 4.2 1868.jpg
you REALLY need to read what this thread is about :p:
soooooooo misko what is that tweak you were talking about on email the other day :)
Ehh.. why do i REALLY need to do that?
people posts their 4.8ghz results?
Dont get what you mean? what have i done wrong?
I think that this thread got de-railed.......From 3.6GHz we climbed at 4.8GHz+...... :D :p:
the point of this thread isn't to post your 32M SPi time, it is to try and get the lowest frequency for a certain time block, 9.59.xxx, 10.59.xxx, 11.59.xxx, etc...
with your time smack dab in the middle of the 11.59.xxx time block, you can lower your frequency quite a bit in order to keep your time at 11.59.xxx without creeping into the 12min range. or get your time down to 10min 59.xxx at the lowest frequency possible with tweaks and whatnot.
hey, i did my best to bring that 9:59.xxx time block down as best i could :D
Ahh now i get it :)
thanks! :D
oh man this is hard :) been trying all night to beat nr 1 on the 11.59 hehe..
but its a no go :D even with ddr3, gutam must have tweaked HARD..
:) we'll se, ill post my results soon.
cheers!
Now i see, i have a lot of tweaking to doo heheh...
well well...ill be back :)
what is the best OS? im starting to doubt the one that im using, windows 2003 server...
hmm?
For 32M, server 2003 is the one.
Someone should really update the startpost :D
Can't you just post the updates in a post and report to the mods that the first post should be updated?
If you start a new thread, you'll lose the charm of a thread that has been going on for 50+ pages :p
getting a mod to update the post even once a week doesn't sound feasible. i completely agree, i would love this thread to stay alive but the limitations of VBulletin won't allow someone but a mod to edit the first thread.
hey Eva, any magic that you know of deep within VBulletin that would allow myself or someone else willing to do the updates to 'acquire' ownership of a thread?
This gets me on the board, right? First x38 DDRII?
